Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA fair bit of maintenance was needed, broken slats on balcony area, broken hot tub lid, large crack in kitchen roof. Oven door bounces shut making it difficult to take food out Without a second pair of hands. Sofa broken and dated. There seemed to be a fly problem in the bedroom waking up daily to even more flys. There was mice outside living under a broken fence panel. We were also woken every night to the sound of chewing above us, can only think there was squirrels or rats living in the loft?! WiFi is hit and miss, and living room TV doesn't work properly with a slightly broken screen. There was also a large amount of dog poo around the grounds of the lodge.
Gorgeous views from oak Lodge. The hot tub was perfectly situated for privacy and the views. The lodge was spacious, clean and warm. The lodge felt private and away from anyone and everyone. The views from the master bedroom were stunning.

United KingdomThe downside are as follows:- 1) property is very tired and needs updating, walls need painting and carpets are thread bare with holes and are in desperate need of replacing. 2) The WiFi is poor and drops out numerous times. 3) The hot tub lid has straps on it, but are not fitted for some unknown reason! It was windy on our arrival and throughout the night so the lid blew off which meant that it took ages to heat up!! 4) The sauna which you paid £1 an hour for was tempremental and worked when it wanted to.. Lost a few pounds coins!!! 5)The downstairs wet room was the worst and floods and doesn't drain away the water. It was very annoying and dangerous. 6) The decking area is slippery, and fence needs panting etc but this was probably due to the time of year we stayed. 7) The driveway area is full of pot holes and weeds. 8) Be mindful of inconsiderate persons(Maple lodge 27th Dec on this occasion) in the other lodges who let their dogs run around unsupervised and fouling without clearing it up. 9) Toiletries were supposed to be provided but none were. Enquires were made but didn't materialise. Two different excuses were provided for why this didn't happen. If some time, money and effort are taken in correcting the above then this property would return to a 10 but it seems since it's time on four in a bed it hasn't been maintained to a high standard.
Relaxing stay in Willow Lodge with the family (3 adults, 2 kids (6 and 9) ) and two dogs in a remote area. The lodges are very spacious and comfortable and we all loved the hot tub and sauna. We also took advantage of having a mobile maseusse which was great. The owners were very quick to reply to any concerns raised and communication before hand was very good.

United KingdomWe were unable to connect the smart tv to the wi-fi, so couldn't access any app/streaming services.
Great communication from the hosts in advance and throughout our stay. Maple Lodge was well equipped with some nice touches, including coffee machine, sauna & hot tub. The cosy environment and festive decorations were perfect for our Christmas couples' retreat.

United Kingdom- it's a 15 mins drive to any local shops or restaurants. This can be a bit of schlep if you are with a large party and are hoping to avoid cooking. Small parties utilising self catering facilities will be in their element - we looked into takeaway deliveries, but these were limited and not available on the days required - you'll love this location for walks & nature, but there are limited activities close by for urbanites! We ended up taking a 1hr & 20mins drive to Shrewsbury to do axe throwing (which was a lot of fun) - surprising how much traffic noise comes from the narrow road next to the lodge, but nothing to be concerned about
- Lodges are spacious, beautifully decorated & clean - Kitchens were well equipped with extra touches such as coffee/hot choc machines - Saunas & hot tubs were a great bonus - We rented all 3 lodges, which made it really special as we had a large secure garden exclusively to ourselves. There was ample room for kids/pets to run around freely & a game of rounders - It's located on a picturesque spot, with a stream, lots of greenery & nature all round - Oak lodge is the biggest of the the lodges (though this is the one without the sauna). It also has the best bedroom with an ensuite & the most amazing view from the window

United KingdomThe bed was comfy but the mattress was bobbly so needed a mattress protector and a thicker sheet. The oven door springs back up which made handling hot stuff awkward and abit dangerous. The decking area needed a small amount of maintenance abit of love and care and the grass could have been cut as was very long and a few stingers too. Also the patches on the ceiling where had been touched up looked abit untidy.
The hot tub was so nice and big. The oak lodge was stunning and the views all round the walks were amazing too. And it was nice and private. Would highly recommend 😍

United KingdomThe lodges and outside areas are in need of maintenance & refreshing. The grass, gardens and patios were all overgrown and unkempt, which detracted from the otherwise smart lodges. Some certification had lapsed. Instruction weren't available for appliances, so using them was a guessing game. (Other niggles like cheap and well used crockery & cutlery, broken cafetiere etc. Only 1 shelf in the oven so impossible to cook a family meal.) We booked a 3 bedroom lodge for couple occupation and were informed later that the couple rate meant the other 2 bedrooms' would be locked and not available to us. Not a problem in our case but it made our anniversary stay a bit less special as in effect we had booked a 1 bed lodge so not as good value as we thought.
The lodge was very spacious and clean. We enjoyed the hot tub which was drained, cleaned and treated prior to arrival. Private sauna also a great bonus, and at £1 for an hour excellent value. Communication before, during and after our stay was excellent. Good Wi-Fi. Parking right in front of the lodge. We like that we could bring our dog too, and the accommodation had a practical attitude to this. Most places say pets aren't allowed on the furniture, but as many people will ignore this they simple suggest you bring extras blankets with you. We covered the whole L shaped sofa with our own throws and it worked well. It was a very quiet and pleasant setting in an excellent location for touring mid Wales.

United KingdomWe had a fabulous time but just 2 little items could do with sorting out. The kettle requires changing and the coffee machine couldn't be used as it required de-scaling. But that was it. Everything else was perfect.
We stayed in The Willow Lodge. It had all the MoD cons required for a self catering stay. The sauna was amazing. We used it every day. Make sure you take £1 coins to use and it stays warm for hours. There was a gorgeous little village in Knighton around 10 minutes drive away that we visited most days to do walks and grab food. We completed Offa's dyke and got some fabulous pictures. Was lovely to come back to such a beautiful setting at night in the Willow Lodge and use the Hot Tub. The dogs had the best time.

United KingdomThe bed was a little creaky at night - I understand self catering lodges but hand wash around key areas wouldn’t go a miss! Luckily a near by shop wasn’t too far away for us to grab some of these. bbq was a little over used and rusting so we gave that a miss too it would be nice for there to be a gated space for dogs to roam around without them having the potential to disturb the other lodges :)
Well laid out for what we needed, spacious and well lit. sauna and hot tub was a nice touch!

United KingdomWi-Fi was quite slow and wasn’t strong enough to self stream, but there was Netflix etc available. it would have been great to have the patio/veranda with fencing all round so the dogs (and children) could be let out, but we made do with building our own. would be nice to have dressing gowns for the hot tub or larger/beach towels.
We stayed in Oak Lodge and it was clean, tidy and contemporary. very peaceful area with no telephone signal, which was perfect for us. We had dogs so having the area enclosed was reassuring. Hot tub was superb

United KingdomThe only downside was we did not have a sauna in this lodge which i though we had. I read the advert as having a sauna?
Great location. Very quiet area . We had the lodge next to the river which was lovely . This gave us a lot of privacy which we went for. Hot tub was amazing though we could not use it until the following day as it had been cleaned on the day of arrival and it took awhile for it to heat up. But not a problem.

The space in the open plan kitchen, dining area and living area. The outside hot tub and inside sauna were most enjoyable.

United KingdomThis lodge was missing little things I would normally and previous experienced in similar cabins. No salt/pepper and needing to drive 20 mins to the nearest shop. Only one tea towel- yes there was a washing machine but no tablets/liquid to use this. We arrived on 12/12 and no Xmas decorations which was also disappointing as we booked for our Xmas get away. The hot tub simply couldn’t be used properly. There was not Enough water in there and the temp never heated fully the whole time we was there. We used this for a whole 10 mins of our 4 night stay because it wasn’t hot enough. When we used the jets in the hot tub the water would just squirt all over the decking so we was left with a half empty cold tub as to why we didn’t use. Very disappointing. The hot tub cover itself was very old and damaged possibly why it never heated up fully.
The property from the outside is gorgeous. We loved the fact we had a tv in the living room and main bedroom. coffee machine was great with pods even for hot chocolates. Free wifi which was needed as no signal otherwise. Large kitchen area.

United Kingdomour upstairs bathroom door was locked, so we had no bath we had to bath our son in the sink (he loved it) but having to go down the stairs in the night when you are desperate for the toilet was not so fun. the bathroom window was left open by I’m assuming the cleaners so the door was banging against the frame in the night every time the wind picked up. but other then that we had a lovely stay!
it’s modern, clean and everything you will need.

United KingdomThe lodges are a little out of the way, but it's relaxing enough to just stay in and enjoy the facilities. There is a village pub about a five minutes walk away, but otherwise you have to drive around 15 minutes to Knighton. The only negative was the bed was slightly uncomfortable and could probably do with a mattress topper.
We stayed in Willow Lodge and loved the hot tub and sauna. The lodge was spacious, even with the extra rooms shut off (we booked a couples stay). The lodge was clean, tidy and came with everything we needed for a few nights away.
