How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The toilet light in our room stayed on all night so that should be fixed to go off after a while please. Also the security light right above the bed was flashing too bright all night disturbing our sleep. This security light and machine should be located further away from the bed and the light should be switched of.

The air conditioning unit started to leak in room early hours of the morning which ruined the nights sleep.

I am taking the fact that it's a 3-star hotel, we didn't see a single new thing on the breakfast menu for 7 days. Not a single Fresh vegetable except semi-boiled tomato. I think this is ridiculous. Most of the open tables should have different kinds of cheese, hams, and vegetables. The drinks were good. We have little fruits too. We have little issue also if we wish to heat the room, and I don't think so it's working well, because sometimes it's a general control.
The hotel is really in a good place—close to the bus station , close to the separate restaurant, Harvester. The beds are really comfortable, and the bathroom is good. Every day, we have coffee and teas. The cleaner is doing her job in an excellent way.

Bathroom needs maintanence including the ceiling above the shower in downstairs room 8. Plaster is falling off and black mould is on the wall, water goes on floor as the shower is an open facility allowing too much to go out. Also the shower fitting came off at the bottom and the fan didn’t work so please improve soon!
Room and service was good however the shower fitting came off at the bottom and the fan in the bathroom wasn’t working. Bed was comfortable and large which helped out sleep, breakfast is always brilliant so special thanks to all staff down in the dining room!

It would be great to put a step stool in the bathroom, like this smaller children could use the sink by themselves. Now we need to lift and hold them.
Breakfast was great. For the price it's rarely included elsewhere. The room was perfect for a family of 4. A bed and a sofa-bed was great.

Sofa bed was not made up - not a problem and dude came to sort. However, i'm not sure he had ever made a bed in his life!! Also, room was smaller than other HI Express double with sofa rooms. Prior warning would have helped but probably not changed our decision.

The only problem we had, which really wasn't the fault of your staff was a large party of people that gathered outside our room and made a lot of noise, this went on till around 2pm in the morning so we did not get much sleep. I was told by reception the next that they had been causing problems inside the reception and lounge area as well, and a lot had been drinking heavily, The reception staff apologised but said they did not respond to requests to be quite and behave
Breakfast good, well laid out and plenty of choice. Room was fine and bed vert comfortable.
