Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomThe contact with the owner is really hard work. No replies up to just before arrival. We did get a whats app with directions but this was when we arrived. I had text a couple of times before this with no contact. Also needs to supply toilet roll, 4 people with half roll wasn’t ideal.

United KingdomHost sent access information and a video link of how to find the apartment within the main buliding but no information about key to open apartment.sent message but never replied. On arrival the access code to the main entrance was not required as the door was open and also broken, so anyone could of just accessed the building. The interior of main building is tatty and smells of weed. We saw 5 lads smoking it outside lower apartments inside main building After 4 flights of stairs (no lift in building) Not sure it details this on the description. We came to apartment which was unlocked. The key was on the back of the door..hence no reply when asked! They knew I'd find it!!!! Apartment has 2 double beds and there were 4 of us. That's OK..but.. Dining table had one chair. So no where for us all to sit and eat. One sofa..again not big enough for 4 people. No other seating at all None of the bedrooms had mirrors. Main bedroom had dressing table but no chair either. Was unable to wash the cups and dishes we used as there was no sponges or cloths..just fairy liquid. Very basic apartment that needs to have facilities to accommodate 4 people! Comfy beds..slept well but would not stay again.

United KingdomMinor details, but worth looking into these, as they are easy to fix and I feel they will make a positive impact. A couple of the window roller shutters were broken, the water pressure in the bathroom was low, there were not enough hangers in the rooms, the bathroom had no ventilation and some of the wall paint was not in good shape. The wifi was not working originally, but I have contacted the property manager and provided with a solution. The address in the confirmation e-mail was wrong and there were no signs on the entrance for getting into the premises. The confirmation e-mail mentioned that I would receive an e-mail with details on how to enter, a day before I arrived, which never happened. Again, nothing major, but these were the things that move a rating from good to great. Hope they make sense and are addressed by the management :) Other than that, thanks!

IrelandVery strange property. If the owner even tried a small bit, they would have a very good apartment and would be able to charge a higher price as the apartment itself is lovely but the apartment building looks like the slums and the customer service is horrific. Having read reviews I was worried that we may have not even gotten into the apartment and was even more worried when we still didn’t receive our check in info a couple hours before check in, even though the booking.com message said that I would recieved it a few days prior to my booking. The biggest downer was the fact the shower didn’t work which was hugely disappointing, the owner was contacted about the issue but didn’t even bother to respond or apologise and judging by previous reviews the owner just seems to be incompetent.
Apartment is actually nice and cost, just very poorly ran.

United KingdomVery expensive for what you get. The bathroom had mould in and there was dust around the apartment. Didn’t get information about how to access the property until very last minute. Floor boards were loose/trip hazard, furniture in the living area needs updating, it was tatty. Generally needs some TLC.
Location was good if you are basing your weekend around the centre of Liverpool. Bed comfortable and furniture well maintained in bedrooms.

United KingdomBathroom was filthy, the bath was filled with hair and other dirt. There was only half a toilet roll which isn’t ideal for 4 people for 3 days. The shower was broken so had to hold it the whole time in there and the water pressure is awful it literally feels like rain. Only 3 mugs and 2 glasses (glasses were dirty and smelled off drinks). WiFi only worked for about 5 hours after arrival and then was impossible to get back on so no tv the whole time. The windows don’t lock and just slide open and closed so was abit uncomfortable during the night knowing how easy it would be to break in! The host was impossible to get hold of and not helpful in the slightest.
Good location, beds were comfy. Heating worked.

United KingdomFlat is scruffy - marks on the wall, evidence of damp, etc. Kitchen glasses were dirty - we found a hair on one of them. None of the dishes or cutlery had been washed. Kitchen is quite poorly equipped with ONLY THREE FORKS! In a flat sleeping five. The building is in a fairly shabby condition throughout. I'm not sure we'd return.
Good location, enough space for the family. Arrival instructions were clear enough.

United KingdomLack of communication didn’t fill me with much confidence. Numerous messages on booking.com unanswered, no check in information prior to the day of arrival. Had to chase and was told booking not found. After sending the confirmation screenshots, booking found and check in details sent. Phew. We arrived to a cold apartment even though I had advised of arrival time. No instructions on how to work the heating. We finally figured it out and found the key, again after numerous messages. Even though we had booked for a family of 4, the amenities were not the best. Shower attachment broken and wouldn’t hold the head, we had to improvise. Only 2 glasses left for 4 people, 3 mugs and no tea towels or oven cloth. The apartment also advertised that it was on the ground floor, carpeted and had a coffee machine. None of these were true. Then had an email at midnight saying accommodation was cancelled even though we were already there!
it was relatively clean, upkeep was generally good and the beds were comfortable.

United KingdomNo communication. No idea how to enter building - address is 9 but you enter via 5. It was raining and we were stuck outside. A resident let us in whilst we waited to be given the flat number and code to get in the main building. Once we were in the flat we discovered there was no key. Rang the contact & he said he’d be 20 mins but was an hour later than that and we were needing to leave the flat to get to Anfield and ended up having to get a taxi rather than public transport. The heating in the flat has failed so we had to use storage heaters. We were left 2 sheets of toilet paper so had to buy our own. We had 1 tea bag which was just left out on the work surface.

United KingdomCouldn’t get in contact with the host to get check in details for about a hour after we were supposed to check in. Poor security to property( door never shut properly. Poor advertisement in pictures to what we actually got. Apartment was dirty throughout. No soap or Toiletries Bedrooms were freezing portable heaters throughout. In fact the one of them was not working. Seemed to be a bed sit rather than an apartment. Would not come back. Very disappointed .

More like the corridor to prison than a apartment block . Apartments very minimal & the shower pressure was non existent. No windows that opened to the outside so very stuffy would hate to stay in the summer time.

Electric shower in bathroom... could not regulate temperature on this. Only one pot for cooking. Some cutlery missing. No storage in the second bedroom.

United KingdomI think that the door code could have been entered in an email or message at the expected arrival time, and an informant that the house number was not the one on the website (5 instead of 9) Since the information was not accurate, I searched for the entrance several times. we went around the building. We called the phone number given to the hotel several times before someone answered and told us the door code and the exact address!!
I really liked the accommodation, as well as the kitchen equipment! Except that there was no sugar in the coffee or tea and at least one liter of mineral water would have fit in the cooler. The location was also very close to everything.

ItalyThe water pressure in the shower was non-existent, the floorboards were wonky and sticking up, the apartment is inside a complex: the complex is filthy and the lock on the front door had been ripped off. The apartment front door was open on arrival, the keys were inside and not in the electrical box were we were told they would be, the lock to the electrical box had been broken off and the wires inside were ripped. There were two locks on the door and we only had the keys to one of them, we contacted the host asking about this and we were given vague responses and explanations. The internet didn't work and neither did the television. Both the front door and the windows let drafts in, one of the curtains was broken and wouldn't open. Overall we didn't feel secure or safe in the property: we even kept all of our possessions out of visibility from the windows.
