    Nothing to dislike

Staff, helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent, Our room was large, with a lovely view, had all the facilities you would expect. Loved the decor and ambiance of the hotel . The building has an interesting history. Location was great for walking into town centre. Would certainly stay here again.

Close to city centre, short downhill walk. Room was lovely, bed was comfy. Had an Indian from holi and bhang next door, got discount as staying in guesthouse. Was delicious! Breakfast was also delicious, very tasty. Checked in early and upgraded free of charge, Anna was lovely! Highly recommended, we will be back!!

We stayed at Farnley Tower guest house as we were going to the Cathedral for a concert. We were greeted by the manageress who was extremely helpful and friendly and supplied us with a lot of useful information about the area We were in a beautiful room (12) overlooking the cathedral and surrounding countryside. There was plenty of free parking and the breakfast was lovely- would definitely stay again

The only drawback at the time of my visit was a boiler issue resulting in a lack of hot water for a shower. This was rectified quickly and just bad luck! Hardly a hardship. A word if you are over about 5ft 6, the attic room will present issues. I’m taller than that and was offered the choice of two further rooms but stayed in the attic anyway. Lovely room with a great view; couldn’t resist but you do have to watch your head!

Great location with parking. Walking distance to town centre and a view of the Durham landmarks. The Host! Decor. Character building.

The location was lovely, just outside of the city centre in a quiet residential area. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast was good too. There is also an Indian restaurant on site which we used - it was one of the best Indian meals I've ever had.
