Let down by cardboard type bread used for toast, which was served on same plate as the hot food, that is a shame as otherwise everything was very good

Good sized room with views over to the castle, comfy bed, good quality food

Anna was so helpful and friendly. The service and attention was excellent. Rooms spotless and comfortable. Breakfast plentiful. Hotel grounds looked over Durham . The walk downhill to Durham Square took just 10- 15 minutes .We were a group of 9 and we had a fabulous time .

    Pretty much ideal

Everything was pretty much perfect for our stay at Farnley Towers. Anna the manager was a delight, (as we're all the staff ) she was friendly, knowledgeable about the local area & nothing was too much trouble for her. Breakfast was fabulous, plenty of choice & served efficiently & cooked perfectly. The only moan I could have is that we couldn't open the bathroom window ( room 9 ) but it's nothing that would mar your visit... Would highly recommend Farnley Towers to anyone wanting to visit Durham.

The only negative was the quality of the bath towels. Otherwise, it was perfect. We were in Room 12 which had a very comfy king bed, modern bathroom and amazing view of the Cathedral towers.

The location was perfect. A 15 minute walk to the City Center.

We stayed at Farnley Tower guest house as we were going to the Cathedral for a concert. We were greeted by the manageress who was extremely helpful and friendly and supplied us with a lot of useful information about the area We were in a beautiful room (12) overlooking the cathedral and surrounding countryside. There was plenty of free parking and the breakfast was lovely- would definitely stay again
