Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe are heading home after a lovely 4 night stay at Farways Den. A beautiful cottage surrounded by picturesque countryside it made the ideal base to explore the local villages and attractions. It’s always great to find a property that is so accommodating for our dogs. We have cockapoo’s and they are a big part of our family and Farways Den was so dog friendly compared to other properties we have stayed in before. An enclosed garden, a big field opposite, dog bowls, throws, portable shower etc nothing was left out. Our girls had the best time as did we. Thank you Emma for making our stay a memorable one, can’t wait to return 🥰

United KingdomPerfect setting overlooking valley and moors. Beautifully decorated and furnished cottage, really well equipped and very dog friendly. Lots of great walks from the door and only 15 mins to the pub (The Grouse is super friendly and great food). So much to do locally, a long weekend wasn’t long enough, so will be coming back. Hosts are really helpful and provide great information. Definitely deserves at 10.

United KingdomLocation was amazing! We arrived in mist and fog and unable to see the view until the next morning which made it even more special. Just beautiful!! Inside, the Fairways Den is cosy, very welcoming and we loved all the thoughtful decor! We didn't use the outside space as it was October BUT this too was lovely, I can imagine having a cup of tea or a glass of wine on the decking with those amazing views is out of this world.

United KingdomHaving to share the en-suite bathroom was a bit inconvenient for 2 couples, but OK as there is a second cloakroom.
We loved the quiet position of the property and amazing views. The furnishings were modern, bright and comfortable. Very well equipped although we ate out, mostly as there is so much choice locally. Host kept in touch during our stay and the welcome hamper was unexpected and much appreciated ! Thank you for a wonderful few days in your lovely accommodation . It was our first time in this area and we only wish we had booked to stay longer. Very convenient for visiting Haworth and plenty of walks in the area.

United KingdomWhere do I start, Emma and Dan were wonderful hosts, great communication throughout and had left a lovely welcome basket. The Den is really comfortable but also extremely stylish with breathtaking views. Oldfield is really close to so many things such as Howarth and the Bronte Parsonage, Hebden Bridge (I believe some of Happy Valley was filmed here), Saltaire Mills (closed Mon/Tues so were some of the shops), Ilkley Moor and a mile away from Cow and Calf rocks. Slightly further afield is Pendle Hill, the Heritage Centre if you want to know more of the history of the last witches hung on the hill and we also took an hours drive to Settle and on to the Ribblehead Viaduct. The cottage is self catering but there's sainsburys, morrisons about 4 miles away in Keighley and lots of Co-ops about. The Grouse was amazing for food, but there is also The Silent Inn and The Wuthering Heights (which had a good vegetarian and vegan menu).Check the pubs first cause again some don't serve food on a Mon/Tues. I want to spread the word...but also don't as I don't doubt it will get booked quickly!!

Attention to detail, everything really, could not find any issues. The cottage was immaculate, it so was clean. I took my sister away for her 70th birthday, when we arrived Emma the host had bought her some flowers and a card.
