How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was a slight draft in the room, making it slightly colder than expected. The twin room we stayed in was rather small, but as we were only using it to sleep it served our purposes
Breakfast was a very complete continental, appreciated as sometimes these breakfasts can be a bit sparse, but we had more than we needed! Beds were very comfortable, and a very good location to get to an event on Warwick uni campus.

It was just a little too snug for me and my friend and the dogs. Made it hard to erect crates to put the dogs into.
It was very clean and had everything available.

Great location and walking distance to Warwick University. It's my second stay for my residential week. The rooms exceeded my expectation, comfortable beds, good portion of breakfast and quiet neighborhoods.

A cozy, hospitable and very comfortable place, the best of our entire trip to England. Warm, cozy room with soft pillows and blankets. The caring owner and breakfast in the room made it a memorable experience for us.

The double room I had was extremely tiny. I'm tiny myself but even with my small over night bag I truggled a bit to move around especially while getting ready in the morning and trying to eat without making a mess with the croissant! The black paint was very nice, it made it cosy so I wouldn not suggest trying to make the room look bigger by painting it white. Also unfortunately you can hear every noise especially if a guest is getting ready at 5:30am. I would still book again but I'd bring ear plugs and if coming with my husband I'd book the bigger room, maybe annexe. For one small person my room was fine.
The hosts and the place were lovely. Very kind, polite and accommodating. Lovely house, decoration, spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast drop off outside my room was such a pleasant surprise! I did not expect it to be so amazing! I really found it relaxing and enjoyed my stay.

The only minute drawback was due to the genre of property which meant we could hear the walking around on the floor above. But, would still book again
The little breakfast drop off was an absolute gem. Hoping to book another show just to stay there again.

We had 2 double rooms. One of the doubles was very small and cosy (although this is highlighted in the booking information)
Good location for Warwick University, clean and tidy rooms, good continental breakfast available for 6.30am on Saturday. Owners friendly and helpful.

The room was extremely small and the dark paint made it feel smaller and dark and gloomy. The bed needs changing as it was so soft that my back was broken
The breakfast were amazing and so original, a lot of thought and was a little bag full of surprises, excellent.

The cottage is in a great location for access to Warwick university and they were kind enough to let us leave a car there after checkout while we attended a graduation on campus. The breakfast bags dropped off outside the room in the morning were great - containing plenty of options!

Lovely cottage close to Warwick university we were there for graduation. Breakfast was delivered on time and plentiful. Hosts were lovely people and very helpful. Only comment was pillows were too hard for me and towels were hard.

The pillows were a little large and firm
The location was excellent just 5 mins walk from Warwick business school. The room was spotlessly clean and I was very well looked after including breakfast delivered to my room!
