We adored every little thing about the property! I feel so lucky to have found it and be able to just live there for a few days. It is not just me, but also my son and my husband, they loved it too! Besides the most beautiful scenery and incredible food, great shops and otherworldly hikes, we were looking forward every single day to return to the cottage and watch Masters of Interior Design by the fire. And can you even imagine that there is this also a gorgeous garden, so you can also spend time outside?

Arriving at the property was a little disappointing, there was absolutely nowhere to leave the car to unload (despite what the email prior to arrival stated) and from then on proved difficult to get close. It wasn't something we considered important and didn't stop us from booking the accommodation, but I didn't anticipate how difficult it really was being disabled myself and having a young child. To enter we were given the wrong code and I couldn't get in contact with the property owner despite numerous phone calls so had to stand outside with lots of luggage and my young son in the heavy rain. We entered after my husband had eventually guessed the code. Another thing that was a little disappointing was the size of the TV in the living room. Although we were out exploring the beautiful location and didn't need the TV much, when we did in the evenings it was extremely difficult to watch from the sofas given the size of the room. We also found the living room lacked mood lighting, all of the lights we used we're very bright and we often sat with the main light on with full dim which didn't feel very cosy. Lastly a full length mirror somewhere would've been beneficial. All of the above I hope can be taken as constructive criticism, we really did enjoy out stay here and were sorry to leave.

The cottage was very charismatic and inviting on arrival. All of the rooms were spacious and the beds were exceptionally comfortable! We loved how the property was decorated, it had a very fresh/clean feel to it with mismatch/quirky decor which worked! A nice combination of old/new. It flowed nicely through the house which made it feel homely. The wine and chocolates left for us was a really nice, personal touch. The locals were very friendly.

Maybe a blind in the kitchen would be great (we were lucky to have the sun shining at breakfast).

Cosy and very well-equipped cottage with a home feeling in the centre of a picturesque village. Excellent communication ahead of the stay by the host. Really appreciated the hand-out notes in the house to let us know how to use things. The kitchen equipment is top: all you need is available to cook a proper meal.

Over all we had a excellent stay and the only thing that could have been a little better would be access to the key especially if you have dodgy knees/hips as its very low down.

Paul had mobility issues -recent knee/hip operations - and found the middle section of garden steps difficult because there was no hand rail. It was fine for everyone else.

Excellent facilities, thoughtful additions - Beach rug etc. Good position for pub/restaurant and local fully stocked shop. Nice sized garden which was great for the grandchildren

We had an issue with the smoke alarm and the tumble dryer. These were sorted very quickly. However, the bins were over flowing when we arrived so we had no where to put the rubbish all week as they were not collected the whole time we were there.

Great recommendations from the owners regarding surrounding areas for things to do and restaurants.

Upper Boscastle wasn’t built for cars and parking was an issue close to the house. We often had to unload the kids before doing a loop on the nearby streets to find a spot, usually out on the main road into Boscastle.

Fernleigh is a lovely cottage in beautiful Boscastle. It’s cosy, spotlessly clean and very quiet. It has stylish and quirky art throughout and plenty of books to read for both adults and children. We really felt at home straight away and the hosts supplied all the info we needed before travel (and lovely wine and chocs!). The garden has seas views and there’s an old pub down the road.

The only thing was the walk up the hill after going into the main centre. It isn’t suitable for the unfit but it isn’t so bad after you’ve done it a couple of times.

Lots of space, beautifully decorated - completely our taste. Pretty much everything we needed was provided and it was a real home from home. Lovely garden with views of the sea and a little roof terrace sun trap. We wish we had booked for the whole week instead of just 3 nights. Also handy to have The Napoleon pub opposite for drinks and a meal. The only downside is the walk uphill after going down into the town- it is a real schlep, but we viewed the exertion as helping us earn an extra icecream… Boscastle is one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall in my opinion and well worth the visit. Chocolate box cottages and beautiful gardens and the river and harbour are picturesque, as well as the lovely overhung and ferny roads in and out of the valley.

Attic bedroom had little headspace. Staircase to access was tight. 2nd floor double bed was a little uncomfortable. No microwave.

Nice and close to a good pub (The Napoleon). Quite street. Good to have washing machine and tumble drier. Good bed in attic.
