Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing to dislike, everything was exceptional.
Exceptional. Perfect location for visiting Bakewell, Chatsworth House. Fischers Barlow Hall is a beautiful Manor House with many original features, decorated to a very high standard. We stayed in a garden room which was spacious, warm and cosy. An ideal retreat to escape for the weekend. The staff are polite, friendly and professional. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast at the Fischers was excellent, top quality produce cooked to perfection, served in a lovely relaxed atmospheric dining room. We checked out feeling relaxed, refreshed and blessed we had found this elegant hidden gem in the Peak District.

United KingdomHusband thought baked beans would have been nice with the delicious English breakfast.
Very welcoming, friendly staff. It was lovely to be welcomed at the door on arrival. We enjoyed the afternoon treat, too. Our bedroom was inviting with soft lights already illuminating the room. Both the bedroom and bathroom were spotless. Loved the extras in the bathroom, especially the makeup remover pads, as I'd forgotten mine. We wished we could have stayed longer.

SpainAlthough our bedroom was majestic, a small note that our mattress encouraged my wife and I to role to the center which works for an anniversary stay. I would not hesitate to ask for the same luxuriously appointed room next time.
My wife and I spent our 10th Anniversary at the Fischer´s Baslow Hall and were treated like visiting dignitaries from the communications in advance until our departure. The staff of the Hall were thoughtful, kind, and engaging from the garden keepers (and what a lovely garden), to the Michelin starred restaurant team, the reception, the team responsible for the bedrooms. To quote the Beetles, "We´d like to take you home with us!" Breakfasts were top top. Most of all my wife and I just walking around your gardens and sampling the summer cocktail creations from the cozy bar corner. So looking forward to returning to the Peak District and stopping here to chat with the Fischer´s son who not only made himself available, but was a wealth of recommendations and made us feel at home.

United Kingdomnothing at all, please never change!
It was my second visit, and I am confident that I will return for a third time. I am a frequent traveler, and I must confess that this hotel is an extraordinary establishment, not only within the realm of England but genuinely throughout Europe. I could engage in a discussion regarding the aspects that accentuate its uniqueness the most, but that would fail to adequately convey the enchantment that this place can instill within you. The location is superb, even for those traveling without a car - delightful proximity within walking distance to the prominent attractions of the esteemed Peak District. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and adorned with distinctive designs, offering delightful vistas of the garden. The cuisine is excellent, presenting a menu that one could only dream of (I must confess, I would go to great lengths to procure the butter for personal use). However, all of these attributes would merely be satisfactory were it not for the mention of the fabulous individuals who diligently craft this masterpiece each day. Their exceptional kindness, combined with their unwavering professionalism and eagerness to ensure that your time at the Hall is nothing short of magnificent, sets this place apart. I would like to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to the owners, Susan and Neil, their exceptional kindness, unwavering care, and gracious hospitality deserve special recognition! Having experienced a second visit, I must express that I felt a sense of homecoming rather than merely staying in a hotel. Perhaps it is solely my perception, but one can never truly know until they experience it for themselves.
