How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Everything was good. So nothing
The woman on the reception was wonderful. She kept an eye on my van while I travelled down to the republic for a a couple of days. In general all the staff were very helpful. The room was one of the best I've stayed in.

What a Gem of a hotel. I rarely if ever write a review but here we go. I honestly cannot speak highly enough of the staff in this hotel. They just understand customer service and I’ve not experienced service like this in a long long time. A fabulously decorated and maintained bar and dining area. The bedroom and bed was extremely comfortable, complimentary water, crisp fresh sheets. Fluffy towels and a spotless bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, fresh and presented by a chef who cared and served by a waitress who was equally as caring. I very much hope my travels take me back this way. Well done to all !

The staff at the Flagstaff lodge are fantastic. The minute we arrived they could not do enough to make sure we had a great stay. They checked us in early and gave us a late check out the next day.

There's not really anywhere to walk to from the hotel, for siteseeing, and along a relatively busy road if just for sheer legstretching, so bear that in mind before you arrive. But a minor concern.
The family room was large and the beds comfortable. Having just spent most of the day driving that was appreciated. Because the hotel has a bar and restaurant as part of it, we didn't need to go anywhere for dinner or to unwind. Breakfast in the morning was also lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A lovely stop!

There is no fridge in the rooms and the car park being on the hill was quite challenging trying to open my door
We stayed here at the weekend. we stayed for my husbands birthday, room was lovely, waking up to the cows in the field was lovely, . the views were lovely, staff were lovely, food was amazing!

Need a relaxing room for residents as the tables are rebooked
The food is excellent but maybe offer smaller portions on the adult menu for people who don’t eat large meals felt uneasy returning food

The staff were all very welcoming and friendly , and especially the lady Caroline at reception. She was very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay.

Every thing about this hotel is first class.The staff are amazing the food is fantastic the rooms are clean with lovely decor.Good comfy beds .The location is great.best hotel you could stay in it has the whole package.

Just back from a stay in the Flagstaff Lodge. What a place! I highly recommend it. The food was amazing, staff were helpful and kind and the hotel is so cosy and clean. Big shout out to Glenn who was so helpful and entertaining and to Caroline and all the other staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

Staff were great and the facilites were fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stay in the Newry. The location is good for the motorway access and also a short drive into the centre on Newry.
