We liked everything

The bar and restaurant area have been expertly decorated to an authentic French bistro. The garden was wonderful, the service from Donna and the team was brilliant and personal, extremely nice team . The evening meal was next level, really really good and very fresh and tasty. The breakfast offer was amazing, help yourself continental breakfast with meats, cheese, fruit, cereals, yogurt and juices to start then a full breakfast menu to choose from for main breakfast , amazing and the breakfast waiter was very nice and extremely helpful.

Beautiful property, loved the decor and bedroom was really comfortable. It had a lovely back garden with outdoor games which we made the most of. We had Dinner and Breakfast at the restaurant both were delicious. The staff were friendly too. Thank you for a great stay

Did arrive during a village event and was a tad noisy. If I wasn't working it wouldn't be an issue.

Last minute change due to no room at usual place. Usual places mistake as this is a hidden gem. Breakfast was outstanding, staff were so nice, rooms were relaxing and chilled.

Creaking floors and soundproofing.

Very convenient and loved the themed rooms. Madeleines and tea/coffee selection was great. Staff were all polite and helpful and made us feel very welcomed.

We stayed on a day when it was very warm and the room lacked air con or any fan so we had to open the window which meant it was quite a noisy night.

My partner and myself loved everything about it. Sean and Gemma were wonderful so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. They are a credit to the hotel. The evening meal was superb and the breakfast was just as nice with plenty of choice. Our room was luxurious, comfortable and clean. We honestly couldn't fault anything about our stay, we found a little gem and would definitely return, also recommend to anyone who is planning on visiting the Cotswolds to stay here. Bampton is a pretty place and an ideal touring base. Thank you to the Fleur de lys and especially to Sean and Gemma for making our stay a special one.

The music in the restaurant was too loud for us (personal taste as we both have slight hearing issues) but that was quickly remedied by the waiter who turned the volume down. We found the lighting very dark. We had to use the torches on our phones to see the menus. It would also have been nice to be able to see what we were eating! There was one minor issue with the bathroom but the staff said we'd receive some feedback at some time. None of this would stop us from staying again though. The comments are not meant as criticism, simply for consideration for future guests. It was an excellent stay in an excellent location and fully deserves an exceptional score.

The food - dinner and breakfast was fantastic. The accommodation - room with bath in bathroom was lovely. The room also had a lovely sitting room for us to use. The bed was really comfortable. We were initially concerned that the room, on the main road, might be noisy at night (single glazed window, presumably a listed property?). It was actually really quiet with no disturbance in sleep. We also heard no noise at all from the bistrot restaurant below. The village was lovely for a short walk. The staff were very helpful and polite.

We absolutely loved this beautiful hotel! We didn’t want to leave! Super friendly and welcoming staff, lovely decor, comfortable beds, clean, great shower and bath! Delicious French food at the restaurant downstairs, as well as great breakfast and coffee! Will definitely stay again when back in England!
