Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPub staff but thats not the cottages fault. Recommend booking if you want a meal as we got quite rudely exited from the venue as they were too full. Also think twice before you go on the Jubilee walk as we attempted it in winter and got very lost 😬.
The cottage is very pretty with a lovely open plan layout. It had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and TV easy to use with lots of choice. Lovely walks around the village. Can recommend the chip shop - very yummy.

United KingdomFlint cottage is really lovely, and we definitely want to stay again! We had everything we needed in a great location, and we could get in touch with Jenny if we needed anything. Our two dogs had a fabulous time in a spacious enclosed garden. The Summer House was great! The local pub was a short walk away. We had a lovely evening meal and lunch on Sunday. Lovely food, friendly staff, extremely dog friendly, and a great beer garden! There are lots of places to visit in the area, we enjoyed a trip to Old Hunstanton, the beach is fabulous! And we enjoyed the Georgian town of Holt!

United KingdomThe bed in the blue bedroom. Needs a new mattress rather than layers of mattress topper, synthetic sheepskin (?), blanket and additional sheet. Our only grumble:we would definitely return otherwise.
Very clear instructions and very easy to find property. Good to be able to park on drive. Very good location for north west Norfolk. Quiet location on small modern housing estate. Really enjoyed the summer house and relaxing downstairs. Well equipped with everything we needed and more. Comfortable sofas and nice to have dining table area for meals and card games. Nice enclosed garden, safe for my dog. Surprisingly spacious for 2 bedroomed cottage. Crown was good value, very good service and friendly local pub.

United KingdomA little more information about how to work the full tv channels and also about the local amenities would have been nice as we were new to the area and were not sure where the nearest shop was or where we could get food. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and this was a plus point on the whole but sadly the crisps in it had past their best before date so perhaps a slight maintenance/oversight issue. Also the dishwasher tablets had just run out as there was an empty box under the sink (again just a tiny oversight). I would have really liked some microwaveable mugs (but maybe that’s just me? very handy for warming up milk/hot choc).
The property was relatively newly built, clean and well furnished. It had convenient parking and was in a quiet rural location (although there are big dogs living next door we found they were reasonably quiet). A lovely garden and additional garden room was a nice added extra (especially the fairy lights that turn on at night). The welcome hamper was a bonus. We felt the house was good value for money. It had additional games to play with etc to keep kids (and adults) entertained if needed.

United KingdomNothing with the exception of new technology. The house is well insulated and uses a heat pump. As slightly elder clients, we prefer a bath to a shower. The shower is excellent but the bath water temperature is not quite hot enough...easily fixed by a immersion heater.
The cottage (new build) was excellent and as a previous visitor stated "a home from home". Every amenity one would want is there...books, DVDs, full crockery etc. A welcome hamper was nice. There is a summer house in the garden which was a surprise...this has to be a first! A great addition that dovetails well with the UK climate. This is probably one of the best cottages we have stayed in and comes highly recommended. We shall return in 2024.

Flint Cottage is the perfect home from home (which is important to me when my work takes me away from my actual home!) Very well provisioned and equipped, cosy, quiet, private, comfortable and the wood burner was the deal maker (I have one at home and love it!) Communication with the lovely Jenny was superb and the welcome hamper really appreciated. Thank you for making my stay at Flint Cottage so special.
