The location makes it a peaceful stay although only a 4 minute walk from the centre of Fowey so very easy to not use the car at all. The hotel is a fabulous building with an original lift which gives it character. The bar and restaurant have amazing views and there is a terrace with views as well.

United KingdomLimited car parking, you need to book a parking space otherwise it's a 10 minute walk from the car park with some steep hills to negotiate.
The staff were all happy and very helpful, this gave the hotel a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Good views from the bar and restaurant across the harbour. Rooms at the front of the hotel also have great views across the harbour.

The customer service from the reception staff wasn't great and we expected more from a 4 star hotel. However, the restaurant staff were really friendly and provided excellent customer service.
The location of the hotel is great and the food was lovely.

United KingdomNo decaffeinated coffee available at breakfast on our second day. Being woken up by the bin lorry on Friday morning at 6am wasn't too good either.
The view is spectacular! We used to visit the hotel every year before lockdown and since we last visited, it has been taken over by Harbour Hotels. The rooms have been upgraded and ours was beautiful. Lovely bathroom, bed was so comfortable, plenty of room and great selection of teas/coffees/biscuits in the room. Lovely welcome drink in the room too which was perfect for our arrival and was replenished for our second day. Breakfast was great too.

United KingdomWe asked to book for a second night but we're told by receptionist there were no rooms for 220 (we'd paid 180 on booking com for the night before as we did ring directly but told 240 so obviously we were going to save 60) but then we got told there were no rooms for less than 240 but again on booking com and your own site it was showing at 220 which we would have paid, we showed the receptionist and she assured us there were no rooms ! Even though there were, we could have booked it! But she said there weren't rooms! It was all very odd, we booked in elsewhere in Fowey instead, such a shame as we felt a bit disappointed at this with no explanation when we wanted to stay!!
Hotel is immaculate, bedroom immaculate, staff friendly, bed and bedding luxury! Food delicious, the whole stay was such a treat and when we arrived you'd upgraded us to a luxury sea view!!! Thank you for giving us 1 night of luxury!!

Beautiful setting, we were made to feel so welcome. Even wished us a happy anniversary by greeting card on our arrival as well as a lovely box of luxury chocolates. All staff were lovely, even the night staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended this hotel

United KingdomSometimes it wasn’t ideal walking to and from the town car park on the hill, and I did envy the guests who’d beaten me to a cushy, reserved spot on the tiny hotel car park! But the steep slopes and narrow streets are better without everyone driving down and causing unrest!
A lovely hotel with interesting design and period details, and a comfortable, well provisioned room. The views over the Fowey estuary are glorious, and it can be fascinating to see there is always a boat on the move, or to notice how the view of Polruan and the coastline varies with the tide and the light conditions. The restaurant, lounge and hotel room, all nicely done, were completely special as they look out on all that. The food was great too, especially the local, “Fowey” mussels.

The location was great with a wonderful view across the estuary. The room was of a good size and was clean. It had every necessary need, it even had a fridge! All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The food on offer was very good and varied. We could not fault it and will return again when the opportunity arises.

Fabulous views of the harbour from our room and the bar / restaurant. Hotel tastefully decorated whilst maintaining great features like the old school shutter elevator. Free gin the room was a lovely little extra.

We love Harbour hotels. The decorations are really quirky and unique, the beds are very comfortable, the rooms & good size & the free gin & tonic in the room is a great addition. The property had breath taking views of the harbour in the bar and restaurant & we enjoyed sitting on the terrace having a coffee in the morning. The receptionist Poppy was excellent and catered to our every need.

AustraliaBathroom recently renovated, looked good … but the over large handbasin squashed the toilet into a ridiculously small corner - no room to reach for the toilet paper from its spot on the floor ! Shower over bath with a screen that could not open properly due to aforementioned basin made that spot downright uncomfortable and dangerous. And an unnecessarily large bathroom door made that space even more cramped…. from staff comments when we mentioned our ensuite’s shortcomings, ours was not the only Bathroom like that ! The relatively high end hotel was not cheap and should have better designed bathrooms
Grand old hotel from another era that has been pleasantly modernised with appropriate decor. Lovely views from our very comfortable upstairs bedroom. The breakfast room , the views from the windows there and buffet selection were nice. It is just a short walk down into the village. We left there with happy memories
