An added bonus was the fact that they had a gym and laundry. It was great to put on a load of laundry and not have to pay per item. The beds were comfortable, the TV and WiFi worked well and the showers were hot. A really clean, comfortable and pleasant place to stay. No options for breakfast but there was tea and coffee in the room and you could book for either a continental or full English breakfast just next door.

The location was a pleasant surprise as it was located just off the Royal Mile, close to the all the action, shops, St. Giles and the Castle.

The only thing that could be improved was the noise of the water in the bathroom - we weren't sure if it was the heater or a pump but whenever having a shower there was a very loud noise in the room. This didn't matter to us but might to other people. We couldn't hear it from other rooms, so it was only when we showered.

The room was beyond our expectations, lovely big window that you could open, tall ceilings, great sized bed and TV, large desk and 2 wardrobes. The 'kitchenette' was small but had everything that was advertised and that we needed including bowls, plates, and cutlery. The heating was easy to use and we were able to have the room at the perfect temperature. The wifi was great in the room and in the Lobby. Lovely bathroom with a bath. The view was wonderful too, we were on the 5th floor. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was fantastic (google maps will tell you to go up 'the new steps' from Waverly station but this is easily avoided by going around. Only 5 minutes to the castle and we also did a walk to Arthur's seat, only 15 minutes from the hotel to the base of the hill. Will definitely be coming back.

Heating system was challenging to operate

Great location for exploring Edinburgh. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Heating system was a but challenging and heated towel rack didn’t work

We were on the 7th floor which we didn't realise was top of the lift then up some stairs. We were given directions so had to find this ourselves but was easy enough.

Perfect location for exploring Edinburgh centre, staff were friendly and helpful and had lots of knowledge.

The room was a bit of a tight fit, but it's obviously in an old building in the center of the city.

The location was spectacular, and the room was very nice and clean and well organized. Loved the kitchenette and the large closet for storing all travel items

Checkin wasn’t as expected. We arrived 3.15 and our room wasn’t ready. Staff were apologetic but we had to ask if we could have a drink while waiting and it was quite some time before the room was ready. We had been travelling all day so this was not what we would have expected as checkin us from 3pm

Location was excellent. Lovely room. Excellent bathroom. Great to have small kitchen.

The bed was really hard and uncomfortable, as were the pillows - we had a few feather pillows (which I don’t like) and a few ‘normal’ pillows but they were like bricks. I didn’t have the best night sleep.

We had problem with Wi-Fi in our first room. Solution was to move us to a different room in the middle of the stay. Also gym access was not possible with room card, you had to ask reception for yet another card to be able to go to the gym.

Absolutely amazing hotel personnel. The rooms were clean, with AC, nice bathrooms, TVs,.. everything you need. We had problems with Wi-Fi, even though the solution was not the most comfortable, personnel was always there for us and they were trying hard to find a solution for the problem.

Our towel rail was broken and was told it could t be fixed. There was also multiple tiles in the bathroom which were broken on the floor.
