Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI was surprised that breakfast wasn't offered on the bank holiday Monday.
Great location and friendly staff, check in was smooth and the Button Factory is a nice spot for a drink/food.

United KingdomDeal said includes breakfast, when there was none.
It is not a hotel, it is a "townhouse" of lovely rooms. The room and bed etc. were suburb, The location also. One tiny gripe was it was advertised with breakfast included and the images indicated a selection of continental choices. All there was, was a small fridge with 4 bits of fruit and some porridge pots in the lobby. I'll know for next time and will be going back. I had my evening meal and lunch the next day in the Button Factory next-door with a 20% discount. This also where you check in

United KingdomNo staff around if bar is closed .
Good location . Large room and very comfortable bed . Hotel facilities were good - complimentary breakfast to take away was really good option . Only saw any staff on arrival - no one was around when I left at 7.am so took a chance and left the key in a box outside reception.

IrelandReally beautiful property attached to a lively, hip bar. Beds were incredibly comfortable and facilities were great. Breakfast is very good, though there could be a more robust vegan option .

United KingdomThe room was a little warm due to the bathroom towel rail but fans were provided. It was a little unclear on checkout where to leave to room key as the reception was not staffed.
Breakfast was great selection of pastries, bread, bagels, cereals and fruit. There were eggs which could be boiled in a machine. There was filter coffee on offer and two types of juice. The restaurant next door was great value for money for Sunday lunch.

IrelandNo issues
Spacious room with all mod cons needed for an overnight stay. Very comfortable bed and rain shower , room was lovely and warm and very little outside noise for a street facing room. Check in was easy in the bar next door with nice and friendly staff and nice to be able to sit and have a drink while you wait as well. Could not fault the stay.

United KingdomA minor issue - found the room was very warm on arrival but managed to turn down one of radiators.
Location was good - within walking distance of city centre. Enjoyed exploring part of the Jewellery Quarter and learning about its history. Appreciated being able to have a meal at The Button Factory next door, especially as I arrived late Sunday afternoon and needed to find somewhere to eat. I was travelling solo but was offered a free room upgrade so stayed in a spacious room.

United KingdomThe windows don't open which means the room was quite warm, obviously a known issue as there was an excellent fan to use. Other than that, absolutely nothing negative to say.
Lovely room, excellent decor with all the original features, comfortable bed, powerful shower with quality toiletries, easy check in, breakfast station in reception with fresh milk, cereals and fruit. Would definitely stay again. Also the Button Factory next door does the best cocktails!

United KingdomThe bed - although the mattress was really thick it was very soft and you sank into it, and it was a single bed. May just be my preference as I sleep on an orthopaedic mattress. The single room was very small but it was a single room so do be expected.
20 minutes walk from new street station and easy to find. quick easy check in, based on another review asked if I could have breakfast sent up to my room which they did and was greatly appreciated rather than coming down and going int the bar next door. Everything was clean, liked the decor and little finishing touches- better than staying in a hotel chain.

United KingdomThe lock to the door was very difficult to use. I thought I'd been given the wrong room key at one point but eventually managed to get in. The doors slammed too - mine slammed inadvertently and I could hear someone else had the same problem. I couldn't open the blinds in the morning as the chain was too high up for me to reach and pull - I'm 5'4" and whilst not tall, I'm not that small so this was disappointing as the lights in the room weren't bright enough (for me).
The room was cosy but well appointed. Having some water in the fridge was lovely, as was having access to some yoghurt/milk for breakfast/coffee. The bathroom and shower were modern and nice to use - offering a flannel was a nice touch that many hotels done offer but for the short-stay traveller was very welcome.
