The parking space was a bit of a squeeze, but with a few adjustments we got the knack of it.

Had a lovely stay in the cosy barn which was set in a delightful cottage style garden. Very clean and welcoming. Everything you could need in the kitchen plus lots of extras like home made cake on arrival, sparkling water and a Nespresso machine. Sensitively decorated with good quality furnishings and items. A pleasure to visit.

The barn is delightful, with access through a beautiful garden. So peaceful. We so enjoyed relaxing and unwinding in the barn and the lovely patio outside. Our hosts were welcoming, helpful and a pleasure to connect with.

Met by host who showed us over the property and handed us the keys, property is all on ground floor self contained and situated across court yard from owners house. Main reason we stayed as it was near Benenden Hospital and we did not fancy a long drive home in January following the procedure , so handy being approx 5 mins drive away. Would like to stay again to explore further the local area , did visit Cranbrook which we greatly liked.

Freshwater Barn is a cosy place for two, allowing a well behaved dog (but ours was left with friends), with a large, well equipped kitchen / living room, a comfortable bedroom and etc. It is in a very quiet location, with very friendly but unobtrusive owners nearby and it is decorated with style and quality.

Nothing we can think of. Everything you normally need in a cottage was available and even more.

Easily accessible by car (parking available). Located in the middle of Kent 1h 30 min from Heathrow. Places like Dover, Canterbury and other locations are within reasonable distance. Sophie and Ronald have been exceptional hosts. The location is as depicted on the pictures located in a beautiful garden. An absolute recommendation if you want to go on holiday in Kent.

The stay was perfect I can't state any negative points because they are surely hidden by all the positive. The value for money is greatly surpassed.

Lovely cottage, attentive and friendly owner, we were warmly welcomed by a very tasted cake and eggs. The kitchen is very well equipped with all you need to concoct good meals with a big gaz cooker. Many lamps to give a pleasant atmosphere, very pretty colored and flowered blinds contribute to a country atmosphere but also elegant. A soft bedroom with nice smelling sheets with an ensuite shower toilet. The entrance very nicely decorated and very practical for storing and hanging up your jackets...For lovers of nature and tranquility you will surely appreciate. I enjoyed the walks with my dog in the park just across the road.

We liked the comfort and quiet. The property is in the heart of the Kent countryside, we were able to visit many interesting places nearby and a little further to the coast. Shops available and local walks. Relaxing and welcoming.

Although the property welcomed dogs ,I felt that the rules indicated by the owner were a bit ambiguous to the latter. Dogs not allowed in the garden as she had problems with a previous guest with dogs and an incident with her chickens.

The property was very well furnished. very comfortable and clean.

Nothing wrong except there was no soap in the bathrooms which I feel is pretty fundamental given the covid situation. Happy to bring my own shampoo etc as was not a hotel but who carries hand soap in their luggage? Enough milk in a jug for a cupper on arrival would also have been good especially as milk doesn’t travel so well. Kitchen ..literally nowhere to put any food. Personally I would switch the decorative wall dresser for an actual cupboard to put food in. It all got a bit cluttered up around the toaster . But I am being ultra fussy. It really was a lovely place to stay.

Perfect for walking to and from our party location. Lovely little cottage like barn in the garden. My girls loved it and we felt like we were truly on holiday.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like but the only suggestion is that that path could be better lit at night.

The property was beautifully styled. Very comfortable. The location was beautiful. Hosts were friendly but not over bearing. Thoughtful touches such as a homemade cake and a jug of milk.
