The room overlooked a flat roof full of air conditioning units The complimentary water stations in the corridors ran warm, worrying as this led me to believe they were unused and could therefore harbour the legionella bacteria.

Bit tired in places. The reception and spa staff were friendly but a touch disorganised. Asked for things at reception and didn’t get done. And the spa kept moving appointment made. Also spa beauty sessions essentially fully booked on arrival, so member of the family missed out on a treatment.

I had a english breakfast on two mornings had i'm afraid to say the plates were not hot enough and this made the food cold. The dinners were great.

Certain areas need a bit of a re-vamp. For example bar area was pretty dull.

The coffee for breakfast was not nice! Changing room areas & spa just needed a bit of love.

This was a lovely building with friendly staff! It just looked a bit tired. The room, but particularly the spa area and the changing rooms could do with a little freshen up :) Breakfast was nice enough (loved that we could order all types of eggs), but coffee was less nice. Tasted really funny. Staff - were all excellent!

A little run down, very limited bar snacks & room service menu. Food & drink prices very high.

Beautiful old building, very pleased our room was in the main part. Spa was excellent. All staff very friendly, particularly on check-in.

Beautiful original decors in hotel although some furnishings in room tired eg hole in chair bardic and curtain frayed.

Liked the still and sparkling water fountains on bedroom landings. Great idea.

Needs a massive upgrade. Feels like a dusty old hotel thats been left too long between re-decorations. Take baths out and put in decent walk-in showers. Bath heights are dangerous and bath width doesnt allow comfortable showering.

I didn't like the alarm that sounded at 00.35am that scared us and kept us awake for some time. I called the reception desk and the gentleman that answered, didn't really know what was happening. Walls are thin. There was a dog barking in the room next door (216) also loud music. Dinner was a bit pricey.

Carmen from Reception desk was very nice and helpful, also our dinner waiter in the dining room. Dinner and breakfast was good. We liked the pool and the spa facilities.

No tap beer in the bar, asked for a meal in the restaurant at 08:15 and told it was closing and couldn’t accommodate, 2 other guests were told the same. The room was ok, clean enough but looks tired. Staff were professional and friendly.

Despite do not disturb or not checked out yet, room service staff entered room twice. Confusion over spa treatment time - not as confirmed on email - and no empathy from reception staff. People working in the lounge (recruitment interview with headphones) spoiled the relaxed atmosphere.

Gorgeous house and grounds with good parking. Lounge was nice. Food generally very good especially sandwiches at lunch. Spa treatments mostly great though reception staff not great when their time was not the same as that confirmed on email. Rooms very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Best facial I’ve ever had.

Our room was okay, a little on the small side with having 2 dogs, but very dated decor, especially that it was a 4 start hotel, I expected a little more than this. The rooms they advertise are not like the room we stayed in! It was clean, but not spotless. We could hear everything in the ajoining rooms, and above us, which was annoying and didn't get much sleep and made the dogs bark! The bed sloped towards the middle, not making it the most comformable.

The area it was in was good, and not in town centre, which was nice. Surrounded by big trees and lovely garden, easy access to main roads. They accept dogs, at a price, but were good to them, and it was nice to be able to walk them around a non busy area. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Pillows were good.
