A few of the staff were really helpful and welcoming but some could have been better! Stairs up to room and elements of the room itself could have perhaps done with a bit of a freshen up

Lovely location and great facilities. Pool was warm and dinner in the Clubhouse was great and reasonably priced. Room was comfortable.

    A nightmare of inadequate hospitality

The whole experience was a nightmare to say the least. We arrived at 11am and were greeted by a receptionist who told us the room will be ready at 14:00 and gave us a card to use to unlock gates around the property so we used it to walk to the lake and see what is there on the premises like kids playground and swimming pool so we decided to use the time outside as much as possible as the weather was nice and had a lunch in their restaurant, and came in to have the keys for our room only at 17:00, so they had 3 hours over the check in time. When the lady started leading us to the room and opened the door she saw the mess on the stairs leading up to our room and realised the room hasn’t been cleaned. So they had 7 hours to clean the room since 10am check out of previous people until 17:00 when we actually came in to check in and were aware of us being on the premises walking around and no one bothered to check whether the room is quality checked for us! So the manager came out and said they apologise and they called the cleaners who will be 30-40 minutes drive away , or longer and then it will take 2 hours for cleaning the previous people’s mess and it would have been 20:00 or more check in time !!!!! We were all dirty and sweaty from spending the whole day walking around and wanted just to have a shower now and decided to accept the offer of a refund! But the whole experience and inadequate hospitality service and lack of understanding how morally it was just a nightmare experience for us and our children when we were planning to celebrate our anniversary there and had to just drive off. So just an apology and a refund just left a super bitter taste to be honest

The nature at Fritton lake is beautiful, swimming pool is a welcome cooling off place in the summer

No one welcomed us at reception, disappointing room, shower didn’t work and weren’t told this until late in the day when we went to use it, 2 uneven single beds pushed together, uncomfortable mattresses, no milk in the room for coffee/tea, unclean public showers, lake swim proficiency test was a joke - paid £10 each and were told to swim to a pontoon about 5ft away while the person testing fed the ducks, sauna booked wasn’t private as we were told it would be, inedible burger at dinner, staff not very approachable or warm, breakfast poor quality, all round just a massive disappointment for my birthday trip away and extremely poor value for money.

    The sauna on the lake.
