Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomGreat location for accessing hill walking in the Highlands. The hot tub was very welcome after a long day hiking and the biscuits and cake left for us were a really nice touch!

United KingdomNowhere to hang up clothes, which could have been a problem if they were wet. Having a microwave oven would have been an advantage.
Location. was good for where we were travelling. The hot tub was excellent. Towels were lovely

United KingdomLovely little place, remote enough that you feel secluded but not so remote that you can't aee around, we took a trip upto Dornoch for the day and into Inverness for some food and drinks the next, also a lovely list of local places to see/eat and drink. Alangrange and chili masala where great. Hosts where great, we were happy to keep yo ourselves and so where they, but also made to feel very welcomed and that if we needed anything then just ask. Also went down to the wildlife park nr. Kingussie, great day out. Hot tub seals the deal 👌

United KingdomSome minor things we noticed such as a bit of mould in the shower and we would have appreciated a kitchen cloth for wiping down the sides, as well as a bread knife. Robes would also have added a really special touch for such a romantic hideaway!
We were thrilled with our stay at Fyrish View. The location was stunning and peaceful. The accommodation was very cosy, warm, super clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The bed was comfy and rivalled even the best hotel beds we’ve experienced! We loved the hot tub and all our interactions with the hosts were great!

United KingdomIt was perfect. A beautifully renovated, comfortable, clean and peaceful space. The views were stunning, there was a welcome pack including delicious local chocolate cake and casis as well as tea, coffee and milk. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and couldn’t have been more helpful but we also could have been the only people for miles. The hot tub was just the icing on the cake, after days of wandering the Black Isle, soaking in the hot tub couldn’t have been any better. There was nothing which could have made our stay any better, 3 nights of utter bliss which was much needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this incredible place to anyone looking for a slice of quiet, peace and tranquility.

United KingdomThe only (minor) point is the inconvenience of the local pub and shop being a 10min drive away.
what a charming, welcoming and comfortable break we had!! The hosts were so friendly and helpful, they even made sure there was milk in the fridge after our long journey. The room was perfect, the bed very comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom spotless and the hot tub was…well…ahhhh.

NetherlandsNothing.
Very nice and comfortable home. Lovely host, very helpful and kind. The view is fantastic. It's a quiet and peaceful area, with also nice places to go to, and you can go where ever you want, because you are in the Highlands. The house is tiny, with the bed near the couch and kitchen, but everything is serene and so well cleaned, it all doesn't matter. You can sit outside and enjoy the fantastic view, and also of you want, use the hot tub! I will go back in the future when it's possible!

United KingdomThe one thing me and my partner could agree on is a better sign postage as not easy to see Also more privacy for the hot tub as the fence what’s goes around it is half length and you could see the back yard ( kinda made me feel uncomfortable aswell as known the hosts were 2 metered away). An other thing is everything is near enough a 20/30 drive what isn’t great if you don’t have a car 😞 the closest grocery store (spar) is near enough 25 mintue drive what isn’t great either (hardly any value stuff in it aswell)
The property was nice and clean very comfortable
