I definitely have a better appreciation for what farm life looks like! The farm seems to wake up around 6:30 and go to bed at 9:30. Although the details said 'farmstay', I don't think I realised exactly what that would look like. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great, which might be a small thing. My son was quite keen to take a farm tour as it was mentioned in the booklet we were given at the start of our stay, but we couldn't because it was calving season. Perhaps the book should be updated to include that there are certain times when tours aren't available so as to avoid disappointment? Lastly, I wasn't aware the hot tub would be so far away from the house. There wasn't a roof or pergola over the hot tub, which meant that there was nowhere to put our towels and clothes when it was raining outside (and it rained two out of the three days we were there!). It might have been helpful to have a little changing shed near the hot tub where towels and clothes could be hung or placed out of the rain as it would still be fun to use the hot tub, in the rain.

The house was lovely and very comfortable and warm and had everything we could have possibly needed. The beds were very comfortable and everything was quite clean. Lynne was lovely and explained things to us upon arrival.

The connectivity to the main farmhouse could be clearer, but it doesn't impact on your stay. A nice fresh space but a few little touches (e.g. shower gel, dish rack, some kitchen condiments) wouldn't go amiss.

A great rural farm retreat, ideal for a relaxing stay and a dip in the secluded hot tub, or as a base to explore the delights of Dumfries & Galloway. Lynne was a lovely host and communication was good.

Only a few things we maybe would have changed, a custom stair gate for the conversion would have been ideal and the hosts did mention this is something they were looking into. A highchair available would have been ideal but our little boy did manage at the dining table. Maybe a few warming touches to the house as it is very modern and appears quite bare. For example even canisters of tea,coffee,sugar would have cosied it up a tad. Overall though we enjoyed our stay!

We loved the area it was beautiful. The hosts were very polite and welcoming. The house was very well decorated. Beds were very comfortable. Heating was great, house warmed up quickly for the little one. Host was kind enough to show our little boy some lambs and give him a shot on the tractor which we thought was lovely.

Second night had a cow mooing all night long in the barn right next to the property and was kept awake the whole night , Not sure if it is a thing as I was only there 2 nights and experienced it one night , but having a long drive home early the next day it was exhausting with lack of sleep , but being mindful it IS a fully working busy farm , I would still go back to this beautiful farm house ,

On arriving got met by Lynne, very friendly , accommodating and helpful , shown around property and was always on hand to help if need be , everything was explained well how to work everything and the hottub , bed very comfortable , area really peaceful and out the way of looking for some alone or couple time , privacy also given

The cottage has no WiFi but this wasn't an issue for us as we like switching off from the real world. However I imagine if you have kids it might be but this isn't really a grumble.

Nice quiet small farm location. The cottage was lovely open plan with good size rooms and very comfortable and relaxing. Owners were friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. The cottage is in a very rural location which for us was great, as we enjoy being away from civilisation. Perfect location for a short quiet getaway!

We had a great two day family break,the cottage was spotless and very comfortable, we used the hot tub twice and it was great lying under the stars and secluded,would have used it more if the kids weren't with us. We had a lovely time. Do take some cleaning stuff with you ,washing up liquid and a spray to clean down. Hand gel and toilet roll was provided. We would recommend a stay here and definitely would come back.

Lovely experience. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Hottub was fabulous and the area it is in is very private and relaxing. The location is great for exploring local towns, beaches and historic buildings. Inside was clean and comfortable - a perfect place to relax and switch off.

The wet room nearly flooded due to the drain being blocked. As the hosts were unavailable at the time of reporting it to them, we had to unblock it ourselves, by unscrewing the drain and emptying the hair and mould from it, in order for us to wash. Luckily, we had a screwdriver in our car as we'd travelled to the venue straight from work. It was also expected that we emptied the bins and stripped the beds ourselves before we left too. I did this first thing, so as we could spend some time in the hot tub before we checked out, however when we went down to use it, the hosts had emptied it which was disappointing.

Good location for a quiet time away. Beds were comfortable and facilities for cooking and eating were great. The majority of the property was sparkling clean, and the entire place was tidy and well maintained.

Modern but lacks finishing touches throughout the property. No wardrobe in bedroom, no shelves or cupboards/cabinet in kitchen and bathroom. No welcoming pack which would have been useful after a days travel to name but a few. The cottage is actually attached to the owners home and access to the hot tub is via the owners garden.

Had to be out the hot tub for 9pm, the whole reason i booked it was so i could enjoy looking at the stars, not aloud to play music, basically not allowed to enjoy yourself after paying what amounts to a whole week of hard grafts wages, to be told what to do, no wifi, tv didnt work, the owner, told me off for playing loud music, (its in the middle of nowhere btw) so i told her to keep the money and left after the first night and went to portpatrick, far better.

Stairs to mezzanine not suitable for younger children! Lack of blinds meant it didn't always feel private and it meant our child woke up very early. Hot tub is only accessible through the home owners garden.
