Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis little hut has literally everything you need including lots of little extras. It was so much more pleasant than staying in the usual airport hotels. It was clean, comfortable and really well equipped. Communication from the host was superb and she even sent a video of how to find the hut and where to park.

MalaysiaSome distance from the main road and with pebbles road, difficult for luggages/ trolley bags. More suitable for people travelling with own car or taxi.
Cereals and milk provided for breakfast was a plus point for our early start. Property is small and compact, have everything you need. Host was friendly and borrowed us her hair dryer. Clean and tidy, tastefully decorated. Cosy house, we had a nice dinner before the family members travel back to different homes.

United KingdomIt’s unavoidable but there was some noise from the work being done on a property in close proximity to the hut. But that is a minor complaint
The property is set in a very calming location. Ideal for those who need to be close to the airport but don’t want a boring and expensive hotel. Ideal hosts who provided accurate details on how to find the property.

United KingdomThere is some aircraft noise as you would expect being near to the airport but this does not detract in any way from the accommodation. The hut is well soundproofed so the noise isn't intrusive
The hut was superb immaculately clean and very comfortable Laura is a perfect host and the Hut was equipped with everything we need including fresh fruit, milk and butter. It is ideal for Gatwick Airport 10 mi note drive away. Can't recommend it highly enough. Two very friendly dogs on site to keep you company!

United KingdomThe Gatwick Hideaway Hut is a very private shepherd's hut located along a privated gated drive, very conveniently located 10 minutes from Gatwick Airport. It's an immaculately furnished, super-modern place to stay. We loved the attention to detail, from the porthole window in the bathroom and beautifully designed hand sink, to the love-seat out the front from which you can watch the planes (loudly) fly past every two minutes or so until about 10:00pm (you are directly under a flight path but we loved that!). The Wi-Fi was excellent, the shower was hot and a small amount of tea, coffee, cereal, fruit and milk had been left for us on arrival, which was extremely helpful. The hosts were very friendly and communicated in a timely fashion prior to our arrival. They said it would be possible to arrange to leave the car on site for our next stay (presumably/reasonably for a fee?) it we wanted to leave it whilst on holiday. For dinner, look no further the The Half Moon pub, situated a ten minute walk away in the village; it served great food and a couple of real ales. There is another gastro-pub in the village. The hut does sleep four in two double beds so is ideal for an overnight stop before jetting away. It would work for a family of four if your kids didn't mind sharing a bed. For more private stays, it's probably better for just a single couple as the hut (entirely constructed by one of our hosts in the barn opposite to a very high spec) is by it's very nature, quite small and compact! The hosts have two large dogs who roam the lawn area in front of the hut some of the time, but they weren't in the slightest intimidating. One final thing... the cutlery is located in what is almost a secret drawer to the left of the sink - it's a drawer within a draw!

United KingdomIt’s was very clean and loved the decor. It was in a private and peaceful spot. Had more room than we thought, as we were a group of 4 adults. There were two friendly dogs on arrival. Beds were really comfy and shower was good and hot. We walked to the local greyhound pub for food and it was excellent food and service. You can hear the planes a bit early in the morning but we had ear plugs so it was fine.
