The most stunning views. We were very lucky with the weather so spent lots of time in the outdoor seating listening to the stream and birdsong. Room itself spacious and comfortable. The gather is a beautiful space and food good. Might go for lodge with a hot tub next time!

While trying to book a table for dinner on-site at Gather, we were informed that they were only doing a multi-course tasting menu (unsuitable for our family which included a 1 year old child); it struck us as odd for an on-site restaurant to only offer a tasting menu which might not be suitable for all guest types that may be staying on-site. That said, staff were very helpful in directing us elsewhere and the food at breakfast was excellent, with great service.

Room was comfy, spacious, modern and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful, with them being accommodating for our 1 year old child. Food at Gather great, with beautiful sea views. A 45/50min drive to Stranraer / Cairnryan if you’re using as an overnight stop off point en route to the ferry. It was our second time staying and would definitely recommend.

Nothing really. Personally I would have liked the drinking water (from their own spring) and teacups to be replaced daily, but I appreciate that others are happy to just be left alone.

The snugs are beautiful, cosy little huts with an entrance boot/coat room, a bathroom and well-equipped bedroom. The views are stunning and you are left alone to do as you please. Gather - the resort’s restaurant - is very nice with fantastic views, and the staff are lovely.

It could do with a couple of extras, maybe a toaster just to make some toast if you’re travelling on a budget it’s hard to make any food at all. Gather is incredible but can’t afford it more than one day during a stay!

The view is gorgeous and the snug is so cozy and romantic!

There was a leak in the shower which sprayed out onto the floor which wasn’t expected. The kettle power lead was too short to reach the plug so had to boil the kettle on the floor which wasn’t ideal. Higher end tea and coffee range would be nice for the price paid eg Twinings tea etc.

The view was incredible! The sunrise in the morning looked like a painting. Nice touch to include binoculars in the room, just a shame it was cloudy on the night couldn’t see much. The room was comfortable and cosy, and nicely decorated. The food at Gather was also very nice.

A small kitchen area would have been good, and a slightly hotter hot tub!

The snug itself was warm and cosy. The hot tub was good, although it cooled quite quickly.

This is a magical place with soul and heart.beautiful views at every turn plus the people around you are fantastic and very helpful. The owner Caroline told us a full family story about all farm. It is a place where you feel like at home. Each house has its own charm and the details are perfectly chosen. The food, restaurants and the service was fantastic too. Definitely highly recommended and I hope back there.

A few more lights on pathways would be great, it was a bit treacherous arriving on a winter night.

The snugs were perfect for a cosy getaway, with everything you need to be comfortable - The Hive with its lounge chairs was perfect for reading whilst admiring the views. The Gather restaurant on-site was also excellent, with fantastic food and cocktails as well as friendly and helpful staff.

There was nothing that I didn't like, however an addition of a small chest of drawers would have been nice to put items of clothing that doesn't need a hanger 😉

The location on a hill meant we had a good view of the sea. The cabins are Individual so there was no noise from people running up and down hallways like you get in a hotel. The cabins also have there own boiler so you could regulate the temperature. The cabin was a lovely size, very comfortable, the bathroom was big with a large shower. The bed was very comfortable too. Plenty of tea and coffee etc and a pint of milk in the fridge. The decor is unique in each cabin, ours was The Burrow.

Arrival 4pm Departure 10am. Found departure a bit of a rush to get breakfast at The Gather at 9.00 and vacate at 10.00. Not relaxing. Could keep the snug until 12 noon but would cost £20 extra.

Unavoidable, but the place felt remote, especially given the fact that stepping off the grounds leads you directly into a busy main road with no pavements, so even crossing the road to get to the beach felt fraught with danger.

The property was gorgeous. A scenic, picturesque little self-contained cabin, with breathtaking views of the surroundings. The on-campus restaurant, Gather, was also great quality, and highly recommended.
