How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nothing negative to say about the place, which makes filling out 2 or 3 sentences for this site difficult.
Free parking, 3 mile from M25, 5min walk to Gidea Park tube, opposite a very good micro pub and 2 Indian restaurants, 50 yds from popular traditional pub and it's independently owned not any national bland chain . Price is very reasonable too

No alternative milk. To be fair the receptionist offered to go get some but i still feel in this day and age at least one alternative should be available.
The property was clean and the staff were fantastic. Hot powerful shower too!

Just a few minor issues , shower room door was not easy to close , no where to hang anything us in the shower room and just a bit of a freshen up of the radiator. Breakfast cost was slightly high at £12 per person but local coop can be used to keep costs down.
Very good value for money hotel , would definately stay there again. Staff very helpful , room was clean , location for us and shops restaurants and micro pub was great

Our location was not as suitable for our destination but proved to be excellent for service. We had a great breakfast, set us up for long journey home.

I realized the heater was not working at night and there was no phone in my room to contact . Apart from that it was comfortable
The receptionist was warm and welcoming.The place is walking distance from the Railway Station.

The room was still a bit compact and especially the en-suite shower room. It is on a main road so a bit noisy as we had to open the window due to the heat.
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and upgraded us to a better room. The location was good and suited our purpose and the shower was small but powerful. The room had a fridge.

The cooked breakfast would be much better if the bacon was cooked a lot less and if the tinned tomatoes were replaced by a grilled fresh tomato. I would also much prefer mushrooms to baked beans.
Very friendly and helpful staff member. Free upgrade to a double room. Clean, modern decor.

Bathroom in 3 Bedded room was basically a cupboard and the shower did not work, water pressure affected volume of flow even on sink taps.
It was very clean and helpful staff. Dolapo was extremely helpful in co-ordinating our reservations and her lovely smile was a true welcome.

More like a large Victorian BB than a hotel and could hear the people next door using the shower. Rooms were spotless and small area for eating. You pay for what you get. Bus and train station 5 minute walk and few shops and restaurants on the road.
Two restaurants next door to the hotel. The Ship and The Harvest and Co Op.

They were not able to provide a dairy free milk alternative. I took my own. I could hear guests as they returned to their rooms ie I could hear doors opening and shutting.
My room was modern and clean with facilities. Breakfast very good. My gluten diet catered for.

The only reason I gave a 9 rather than 10 is I feel there could be a runner/rug in the hallway to mute the noise of footsteps. There are beautiful hard wood floors throughout but unfortunately I was on the ground floor and very frequently heard high heels walking up and down. This didn’t go on too late though.
Spotlessly clean and super modern rooms. Good location. Friendly staff at reception. Felt safe as a lone traveller for work. Good Wifi.
