Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe location was perfect, a pub nearby that serves decent food (game pie recommend) the property is fantastic I could happily have lived in it for the rest of my days. All ammenities present. Owners were great and communicate thoroughly to make sure everything runs smooth. I will 100% look to book again when next visiting Glencoe.

Canada- Nothing at all, but note that the walk to Glencoe centre is legitimately 30 minutes. I stupidly brought a rolling luggage and taxis are not readily available, so plan accordingly!
- Absolutely breathtaking view for the private cabin - The cabin was extremely clean - Had everything needed to cook, utensils, even wine openers - Great Wi-Fi - Hot water and good shower pressure - Heating is on a schedule, but it is adjustable. There are also heated floors!

United KingdomNothing, everything was to my liking. The only minor thing, perhaps, was that there could have been some more essentials in the kitchen, like salt, pepper, oil. But that's really just a minor thing and should not make any difference in the decision-making.
Absolutely satisfied. Although it is a bit pricy for a student, it was definetely worth it. Great value for money ration. Glencoe is lovely and the Heart of Glencoe Holidays is in the perfect spot, between the village and the southern valleys. I enjoyed every minute there and would like to stay there in the future.

United KingdomTo be honest the fact we only had 2 nights there was the only bad part, we loved it. The cabins are dog friendly so, please bear that in mind, there is a very slight dog smell at first, not dirty by any means just as if you were in a dog owners house. However we're dog people ourselves so this was no issue.
If you're looking for a cosy cabin getaway with nothing around but stunning views, peace and tranquility then you won't find better. For me personally, stepping out onto the deck in fresh winter air with my morning coffee, to the sounds of the nearby stream, birds chirping the neighbouring horses giving a morning hello all in the foreground of THAT view was like something out of a dream. Absolute breathtaking scenery. Our host, Davina, clearly seen we were bit lost on site at first as we had arrived quite late and it was dark so came down to make sure we were ok and found the correct cabin. Lovely warm smile and a welcome. Upon our departure we met Keith, Davinas husband, very warm and friendly chap. Couldn't have been nicer. If you stay here you are in very good hands.

United KingdomHa is having to leave today a "What didn't you like?"
Everything! A lovely phone call/message before my arrival. Perfect tranquility. An exceptionally well equipped kitchen and maticulously clean bathrooms. Keith and Davina 100% have paid such great attention to detail in every area. Immaculate beds. Charge points, invidivual lights, curtains for privacy and wee cubby for beside the bed. I cannot not mention the GLORIOUS kitchen table. Such a well maintained site. 10/10 almost doesn't seem enough. Look forward to coming back with my 5 year daughter next season. Many Thanks to you both for everything.

NetherlandsOne tiny thing we didn't really like, was that the showers only had 1 temperature: lava. Got used to it after a while though.
We were staying in the Alpine bunkhouse, and it was one of our best stays of the trip! The communal area is cozy and welcoming and the kitchen has everything you need. The room and beds were very comfy as well. Every part of the building was spotless. Wifi worked like a charm. The walk to the hostel from the nearest bus stop takes about 30 minutes, but is quite pleasant because of the cute village of Glencoe and the beautiful scenery on the way. The location is also ideal for hiking, with many beautiful trails nearby.

SloveniaI came for some peaceful time here and i got it. The location has a perfect distance away from the crowdy main road. I didn't have a car and i didn't mind about it. It takes at least 30 minutes from Glencoe Village bus station to walk through beautiful forest path next to the road to reach the Hostel. it is wonderful location to hike and reach the top of Pap of Glencoe. You can discover from there so many different paths and you can get to Three Sisters by foot. Independent Hostel is such a cute, clean place. Kitchen has everything that you need for preparing meal and is such a good space to meet and chat with other people. You have a big fridge so you can store your food there. The bunk beds are big enough so you can sit if you are in the bed down below.

United KingdomI have nothing negative to say about my stay apart from I tried to book direct prior and rang the property and was told they would ring me back as the website told me to ring to book. No one ever rang me back and I booked via booking.com because I wanted to ensure I could stay here.
Beautiful cabin which was so well equipped. Can not fault it really. I loved it.
