Only thing is the kitchen seating area too uncomfortable to sit and watch the tv. Be better if the tv was in the bedroom. Plus they had room for a freestanding sink and decided to put it over top of toilet . Made it awkward to brush teeth without hitting my head in the shelf above it .

The only thing missing was a sofa, would have been great to have had a sofa and maybe a fold down table and chairs, as opposed to just benches and a table. The rest was brilliant though, we'd stay again

Great location opposite bars and restaurants, very hip. Lovely history, and in keeping with it's history, built on old train tracks and designed to look like train carriages - best area in Barry!

This is a self check-in property, which is a process that I don't mind and sometimes prefer. The problem with this check in was that my arrival information to include unit number and access codes to the unit were never delivered, as promised and expected, by the property. Very unnerving to show up with zero communication from the property. The booking.com chat system did not get me what I needed. Thankfully, after traveling 36 hours (i reside in the Philippines) and arriving at the property I found some folks who put me in contact with the property management. Apparently my yahoo email address that i have registered in the Booking.com system, did not work for the property management in sending me my important check-in information. ( My email address works just fine, but those sent from Urban Space are still lost) There needs to be a better, more responsive way to establish two way communications. Again, the booking.com chat system yielded no response. The Wifi did not work, for me. Not a big deal as I had a data plan loaded onto my phone. ( The wifi codes provided by the urbanspace team after my check-in did not work and I chose to not ask for further guidance because my cellphone had a great signal). I would stay here again because I now have the email address to the property management and can confirm arrangements well beforehand. Located about a 10 minute walk from the Barry Train Station, which is very accessible to nearby CARDIFF. I liked the dine and drink options in Barry. Several options within the Goodstay compound. And downtown Barry is loaded with pubs and restaurants, all within walking distance. My main reason for staying here was to watch the Rugby Six Nations at Principality Stadium...but the lodging costs in Cardiff were excessive. Goodstay Lodges worked out really, really well, for the most part.

The internet didn’t work at all. They don’ t have a permanent employee assigned for weekends or after hours. They only have an emergency phone number. Obviously, the internet not working was not an emergency. When I wrote a message to them I got an automatic reply saying they’ll write back upon their return, but nobody ever wrote back. When we got there it was very cold inside and it took hours for the temperature to go up after we started the heating.

The lodges are right in the middle of a bar/restaurant area, which vas very nice when we wanted to go for a drink without having to go out too much in the rain. And they have the best beer I’ve ever had at the bar across the lodge. Also, from the lodge to the train station it’s only a 7 min walk. The lodge was clean and comfy.

No storage in the bathroom to put your toiletries.The sink was over the toilet, very unhygienic and not practical. Awkward brushing teeth and washing hands etc as hardly any space to stand beside the sink. A mat or rug in the kitchen/dining area would make it feel more cosy/ homely. No fresh milk in the fridge as stipulated in the accommodation description. Not enough coffee sachets for a 3 night stay so had to buy coffee and milk.

We had some communication concerns with the owner, we didn't receive all details about our reservation.

Accommodation perfect there were everything what we needed including the bars just out of the door.

Clean and tidy, modern facilities, gated area and an on-site bar which is always handy! Free parking at the top of hood road, take a left and you will see a car park on the right.
