Toilet needs to be improved a lot

The shower was hot and cold in 30 second cycles, and there was no loo roll in the room when I arrived. The blind went down but I had to get on a chair to pull it back up.

The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the sheets and bedding felt new. I was in a very warm and quiet en suite room. The staff were very friendly too. I travelled as a solo female and felt very safe in a new environment. The on site pub was really welcoming and the separate Italian restaurant was delicious, and as a guest I received a 20% discount. They supply the pub grub too - the haggis pakoras were delicious!

No heating throughout our stay. Shower only provided hot water for less than a minute.

Wi-Fi not working on the room floors. No room service. Linen and towels were not changed Tea coffee sugar milk not replenished no hot water in the morning in the Bassin. The shower turned ice cold after 1 minute of use

The room was tired, cold and noisy.

Location was great for early check in at Edinburgh Airport. We didn’t have breakfast so I can’t comment on that. The room was basic and very cold (possibly as we were a very late booking). The bed was clean but shower was very mouldy. The only member of staff we saw was very pleasant and helpful.

Plastic windows and a forecourt full of rubbish bins! I could have done with a more adventurous selection of beers but most of the clientele seemed happy enough so maybe I'm just fussy. (And English).

I didn't have breakfast. I visited because I am interested in the philosophy and architecture of the Gothenberg Movement. I was a bit disappointed to find that much of the delicate architectural quality of the building had clearly been lost but much remained and it would be lovely if somehow the funds to restore it properly (like its cousin in Prestonpans) could be found. But I realise that would be very expensive and hard to justify with the market as it is. So it's just nice that it still exists. It would be a whole lot nicer if its front driveway was not full of containers and rubbish bins!

The shared bathroom had no hot water available in the sink and also the electric shower while working did not supply hot water making it unusable.

I didn’t like how noisy the rooms were, many drunken people outside, window ventilation couldn’t be shut, and shared bathroom and rooms could do with some upgrading.

I liked the bed, the firmness of it I enjoyed very much. Clean linen and staff very friendly. Especially the restaurant staff were lovely.

Shower didn't work during my stay, BUT it got fixed on the morning I left (so it's fine). No remote for the television.

There is an italian restaurante right underneath the hotel rooms where you get a discount if you stay there. Bed was super comfortable.

Band playing downstairs in the bar passed 11pm. Bathroom smelled a bit funny.

For the price, not much.

A fairly basic hotel but at the price. good value. Clean and comfortable. Pretty cramped bathroom but served our needs. Meal in the restaurant was good value and got a discount as we were staying. It was very nice too.

Plumbing wasn’t working in bathroom

Had to run water for several minutes before it came warm each time I used it in the basin. Shower tray filled with water each time I showered and drained away very slowly. Bathroom very tiny. Poor sound proofing and constant noise from next door room.

Unfortunately it was very very hot when we stayed and it was unbearable in our room. We did ring down stairs and they brought us up a fan which was a life saver. The room was perhaps quite basic and felt a bit smaller due to shape of the ceiling. This however is perhaps normal in the UK.

The Italian restaurant on site was lovely. The staff were great. The staff bought us a fan to our room when we called and asked for one. Our car broke down the following morning and we waited for services to attend to us. We asked to use the bar facilities and when they heard we were broken down they offered us drinks on this hot day. The staff at the hotel were lovely.

Room on 3rd floor with shared bathroom across the hallway. Facing a busy road and vehicle traffice + pedestrian traffic woke me up on several occasions. The bathroom door was only secured by a flimsy hook, no hot water in sink, mould on shower unit. An electric kettle was provided but had difficulty in getting water into it from sink tap.

When I booked the room it was not made clear that the hotel did not provide breakfast. Luckily there was a small cafe a few hundred yards away, but there was nothing in the room to give me that information.
