There was nothing we didn't like.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. All the staff were friendly, very helpful and attentive. The hotel is a beautiful old house that is family owned. The breakfast was superb, cooked to order from a menu. I can't eat gluten and not only was that no problem, the evening receptionist remembered a remark I made about being able to eat there and passed it on to the staff for the following morning. That's a first for me! We will return

There is nothing negative to share about the hotel or its staff; other hotels may provide a cheaper nights stay with more modern comforts but without the amazing environment and character.

The staff were exceptional and very accommodating in ensuring the room was suitable for my 7 month pregnant wife. Breackfast was also very good while dinner was filling, making it worthwhile. A special thanks to Mia and Kate. The building is fantastically dated with lots of character without losing much comfort. The choach room was warm and clean, the bed and sofa were comfortable. High ceilings throughout and just a very plesant place to be. Bathroom had a large shower only, no bath, but this was a very good size.

: Room facilities: *No waste bin in the hallway or bedroom? * Couldn't get TV Chanels on TV ? Staff tired to help but couldn't fix the problem? * Curtain rail broken ( no end caps) when curtains were drawn the curtains came off the end ( Lighter weight curtain required or stronger loops to take weight of curtains) for ease of use !! Bar area: Limited drinks selection, ln lagers & wine& brandy not much choice ! General ambiance: The hotel lacked a bit of atmosphere and the decoration could do with a lively revamp ( a bit plain & dull & cold feel). External layout: *Lacking in enough lighting ( very dark ) * Carpark and drop off area to main frontage very muddy and poor surface ( could do with re surfacing in tarmac or hard standing aggregate) Checking out & Reception: * When checking out we couldn't find anyone on reception or on the main ground floor to check out and settle our bar bill ?? So left the room key on the reception desk and took a photo as proof !! Later we had a phonecall to ask for the bar bill settlement payment which was made after explaining their was no staff on duty to check us out ? To which the staff member apologised!

    * Quiet location no noise * Comfortable room&bed * Staff helpful * Breakfast very good & variety choices... * Large parking area

Location was to far out and I wasn’t told restaurant would be closed on my arrival on the Monday - so after. Driving for 4 hours I didn’t eat as had no idea where to go for food or supermarket.

The decor is in need of a makeover before too long.- it's fine but the wallpaper and carpets look very 90s - so not quite old enough to have vintage charm. However, so nice to stay somewhere that isn't completely characterless - just so much potential for a really quirky and characterful hotel.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was great. As I was travelling with my daughter who's coeliac, it was so great that there was plenty of gluten free food she could eat. The staff and chef seemed very aware of what's needed for coeliac disease. The beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. Tea and coffee in the room. I loved the quirky paintings and pictures all along the walls and the history of the place - also the fabulous walnut wardrobe in our room. I was there for a wake - it was well-catered for - again - a good choice of food for coeliacs.

The sofas could really do with refilling both in the room and bar area as they were hard and quite uncomfortable Stayed on a weekday and bar and reception etc was all closed down by 10pm, not a massive issue but wasn't aware that it would all be closed as would have purchased wine and more water from the bar earlier for the room if we'd have known.

Gorgeous grounds, beautiful place, all staff were really friendly and helpful especially Mia and Nick, dinner and breakfast were both superb with fantastic choices for both and quality ingredients all cooked to perfection, very comfy bed and spacious beautiful room

It's just a shame that the restaurant isn't open on a Monday- I do understand that it isn't really doable as there aren't enough gusts to make it work. That being said, I'm just bothered because I miss out on that amazing cheesecake for a night!

    Great stay again- thank you!

My only criticism is the place needs a bit of money spent on updating the sofas or refilling them. The restaurant lacks abt atmosphere and so needs an update or something. Everything else was perfect.

The young lady Mia was amazing on the night we stayed not many were there and this one lady was like superwomen she did the reception showed us our rooms and then waited on us in the restaurant and bar. The room was an absolute delight and my friend didn't like his room and again superwomen swiftly sorted it. I believe Mia is an absolute asset to Grafton Manor, so hardworking and clearly loves the place and her job. The food in the restaurant was amazing and great value as was the wine. The bedrooms were beautiful the rooms were warm all night on a very cold day. The mattress very comfortable.

The corner bath with the telephone shower head was a nightmare. Sitting there waving a shower around wasn't great. Water running hot and then cold.

Enjoyed the setting. Unique and old with a wonderful history. Night porter on Monday night was welcoming and friendly- printed me off a history of the hall which encouraged considerable discussion between us. Bearing in mind I think I was maybe only one of three guests that night.

Didn’t like is strong view. So I’d say nothing.

Evening meal & breakfast were lovely. Twin beds comfy. Room was a bit of a mish mash furniture but it was sweet. Hotel probably due a bit of a re-furbishment, but had lots of character and fixtures, fittings, historic and in keeping. I would stay again. Well priced accommodation. All staff were friendly, professional, authentic.
