    Nothing to report here!

A lovely cottage, set in a quiet rural location, this was the ideal base for our stay in the northern cotswolds. The hosts couldn't have been nicer and our son enjoyed playing with their sons; exploring, climbing trees, using the tree house, climbing frame and the area generally.

We were told that it was 1800 check in time, and this was not negotiable. We have to call them an hour out, while we're en route, as we still hadn't had check in information OR the actual cottage location. We arrive, and find out that formal check in is 1600, so we could have avoided the horrific traffic which we'd tried to do. It created a really unpleasant start to the trip. It felt like it had been furnished with someone's hand-me-downs, in "student shared accommodation" style, without any care to it. It came complete with the old couch covered in an elephant print sarong. I'd have expected far better attention for the money we paid. You'll be greeted with an information booklet with three pages of things you cannot do (helpfully, 'do not build a bonfire' is listed twice). Be aware that it's a home stay arrangement - you're cohabitating within hearing distance of the couple and two young children who live there. This place could be good, but our experience was really poor, and it was by far the most expensive cottage in the area by a big margin.

The cottage is on someone's estate, in a very quiet part of the world. There is a lovely field out the back with three rowdy peacocks who come and engage with you. The cottage is small but big enough for one adult couple (and perhaps a child). They do allow pets downstairs. The kitchen has everything you need to self cater for the weekend, and there are a number of good quality pubs in driving distance.
