Apart from the stewed coffee (see above), the view of the river (from room 31) was obscured by some large air conditioning units/heating ducts on the roof outside.

Very good location, very helpful staff, decent breakfast (though the coffee was stewed!). A pleasant, welcoming atmosphere.

The breakfast was excellent with eggs cooked to order but it could be improved by not putting sausages bacon etc all out in one go keeping it topped with freshly cooked items.

We wee lucky and had an upgrade to a room with a view of the river. The best feature was the was the mini bus into town an collection after our evening meal.

The much praised shuttle bus service was not available which was a disappointment. After we requested it we did get a discount to cover cabs to and from town in the evening.

This hotel has so much character - the rooms are delightful, well decorated and so comfortable, and some have amazing views across to the cathedral. The location is exceptional. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Would love to stay again.

If I’m being picky the temperature of the shower was hard to control and there was some noise in the morning from the breakfast room & kitchen.

Lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We were given vouchers for a welcome drink and there was a free minibus to the City Centre. We walked as it wasn’t very far.

One member of staff (in the bar) was a bit unprofessional, and made me - and a few others - feel a little uncomfortable. The bedroom was rather small, but comfortable enough. No restaurant - I didn't realise this beforehand, but perhaps that is my fault for not checking closely enough. Also, I don't like being bombarded with emails and messages asking me to 'bid' for an upgrade prior to my stay.

Lovely building, rooms are comfortable. The bar is very nice, with views over the river to the Cathedral. The staff were, on the whole, excellent.

No option for evening meals. This was overcome with free minibus back and fourth to town centre that is full of restaurants. Just adding so others are aware.

Customer service went above and beyond, from front desk to complementary free mini bus in to town and back. So, so friendly. Cleanest venue we have stayed at and that is appreciated. Very good standards and ethos. Love the design of the hotel and you can tell a lot of heart and passion has been put in. All staff was complementary of owners and the business they work for. You can tell they are appreciated as employees. We are EV owners and appreciated the charging points also . Thank you

Bombarded with pre visit emails tauting upgrades which made us wonder what we would be getting if we didn't upgrade. Felt quite threatening really asking to us to bid for upgrades which we might not have got. Very money grabbing. In the end the room was fine but if they had said , "would you like a view over the cathedral for another £5" we might have said yes.

Freshly decorated room. Warm and comfortable. Facilities good and refilled daily without asking.
