if you were staying in the flat as a couple, the bedroom is very quiet at night. the lounge with sofa bed facing onto the busy street was a bit noisy but to be expected with such a central location. it wouldn’t put me off staying there again.

everything in the apartment was high end and very stylish. comfortable beds and some lovely quirky pieces. Host met us to check in and was helpful and friendly. location was great - right in the middle of the buzz of the Grassmarket.

Sofa bed was a little uncomfortable and the seating did not allow us all to sit comfortably without being a little cramped. Whilst the low lighting added to the ambience of the apartment it wasn’t very practical.

Best play to stay in Edinburgh for me. I can’t believe we got this Apartment at such a fab rate. The host Gary is absolutely brilliant and stays in regular contact, the apartment is decorated fabulously and is in the heart of the old town. Even though you are living above a pub there’s no noise and it all quite after 7pm. So close to all the sights. I will def be staying here again. Also Includes Netflix. The kids Loved the pullout sofa bed and very comfy. just fab! I would also recommend the foodie place called Hula literally round the corner and the breakfast bowls are to die for. Harry Potter fans will love the sights around the property.

The bed has no headboard which meant no relaxing in bed with a cup of tea or book - would definitely change this if possible. Also the toilet paper provided was very thin & not good quality - we went & brought our own.

Location, the little touches of tartan blankets & highland cow were cute. The flat was very clean and had everything we needed.

These are minor points.... it's great having lovely things to look at, but it's really important to be comfortable. The bed is difficult to get comfortable in as there's no headboard, so pillows slip off the back quite easily. Of course, beds are very personal. The mirrors to reflect the castle view are a lovely idea, but a small headboard, even a low one, would make the bed more comfortable. The lounge looks great, but none of the furniture is comfortable to use. Only having 2 spoons, knives, forks, and 2 of each item of crockery was awkward at times. The towels in the bathroom are very small. Bigger people would not be able to wrap them around themselves. Ladies might want an extra towel for their hair. I would also say (and we knew this would be the case), but you can hear the pub through the floor, including music and you can hear the hand dryer in the toilets which are below the bedroom. However, it's worth it for the location, and it didn't bother us.

Really excellent location and easy to reach anywhere you'd like to explore. Being met to provide keys and explain a few things was nice. Great eateries and pubs nearby and lots to look at, especially the view of the castle, which is easy to reach via the steps nearby. There are some great facilities in the apartment and lots of unusual decorative features. The stereo is great, it's nice to have a cafetiere to make a nice coffee. We liked being able to do our own thing and make food in if we wanted to. It was great having Virgin TV if you'd rather have a night in after a long day out. It was nice to have a few tea bags to get us started when we got there.

The steps to the apartment can be a challenge for some folks and a instruction manual for the washer/dryer (one unit) would be very helpful.

The noise level for the person sleeping on the sofa bed was hard. People shouting outside at 3:00 am. Plus, there wasn't enough tp....had to go buy our own....not great! It would have been nice if the kitchen came with a few necessities....like salt, pepper, and maybe oil. To buy those things for just a few days seems......

Don't want to say anything negative really as it was all so lovely but as we stayed for 3 nights we found the towels not very large or thick.. another bath mat would have helped due to splashes from shower curtain around the bath.

The location is fabulous and we had everything we needed for a perfect city break, it was lovely just to sit at the window and watch the hustle and bustle below.
