How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Traditional, homely, very comfortable, warm, clean, little extra touches in the quality of what’s available to guests to enhance the stay, and a very warm and friendly welcome. There is a lot of attention to detail, which I really appreciated. Excellent choice of breakfast, which was very tasty and plenty of it.

The room and bathroom although both immaculately presented were a little small.
The room and premises in general were exceptionally clean and well presented, The hosts went out of their way to make us welcome and have put a lot of work into the premises. We had an excellent view from our room towards the distant countryside.

wifi dropped out sometime, maybe introduce boaster to reach all over, this was a minor issue as it was working majority of the time

Breakfast choice was the best we've ever had in a Guest House. So clean and fresh. Friendly hosts. Everything provided, towels, accessories, selection of breakfast teas and coffees, robes, variety of bottled waters, dental kits. The ensuite Victorian rooms elegantly decorated. We will certainly be visiting again.

Made welcome, nothing was too much to ask. Breakfasts were lovely - they were really tasty. The views over the hills - and the sunsets - were gorgeous to behold. Help choosing where to have my evening meals was just right. There were good options in town and further out. (I stayed within walking distance.) There was my own robe - in my own private bathroom. (I chose a room (Starling) with a separate bathroom for £ reasons). The rooms were nicely presented, my bathroom was bright and pretty. Everything worked!

Really good welcome and easy. Handy there are electric chargers across the road in the car park. Really good breakfast with great variety and attention.

I stayed here before covid for work on a regular basis, I returned recently for work & it’s still just as great!! The owners are so lovely & helpful, the rooms are spotless & the beds are just so comfy! When staying away from home for work I sometimes don’t sleep but never here & the breakfast options are such a treat!! Can’t wait to come back!

Had a marvellous stay! Everything was perfect theres lovely slippers even and a robe felt most luxurious stay. The breakfast was amazing and filled me up for the day fresh local produce! The best was to meet the lovely hosts! The place is gorgeous clean and well decorated. Looking forwards to staying here again highly recommend this gem of a place

Tricia couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. Incredible breakfast with literally EVERYTHING on offer. Really comfy four poster bed. Will definitely be back with the family.

Absolutely loved our stay, made to feel so welcome, the room was lovely with some added extras of gorgeous biscuits which went down well, the breakfast was absolutely fantastic with the homemade bread, the hosts made it feel like home away from home

I booked "on spec" and was impressed at the personal investment in guests: I was met on arrival, shown my room and given a rundown of facilities and what was available in town (the hotel is slightly outside the historic centre). The room was compact but comfortable - ideal for the solo traveller - with a fantastic view. Breakfast was first class. I look forward to going back.

Everything I liked a bout the guest house loved every thing u got every thing u want in the guest house staff help full if u need anything like more coffee etc it's there
