Shame that none of the facilities were available! No bar, restaurant, pool etc. Not sure when the outdoor pool was last in use, the indoor pool was also out of order so we were told we could use another hotel's facilities during out stay. We did on 1 occasion but it was a bit inconvenient as a good 15 min walk away (rather than just nipping downstairs). The outdoor pool was lovely and warm, but quite tired and not ideal when cold outside. The indoor pool again a bit tired and the water was cold!

The location was fab, great room size and good cooked breakfast

The bar wasn't open & no evening meal available due to the restaurant being closed. Parking was not good.

We didn't have breakfast at Abbey Sands. We got it cheaper elsewhere.

Parking expensive £10 per day. Indoor pool closed apparently it had been overdosed with chlorine so unsafe to use.

Location close to everything we needed. Room was amazing and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good. Could bring our dog. Staff very friendly

It's an older hotel and shows signs of wear. The pool and hot tub are adequate, but in need of some tlc. The changing rooms need a bench or similar, so things don't have to be put on the wet floor.

Cooked breakfast was delicious. All the staff are a credit to the hospitality industry, being very friendly and welcoming. Bedroom was huge and always plenty of hot water for a shower.

We can thoroughly recommend the Abbey Sands Hotel!

Bar and restaurant were both closed due to staff shortages which was a pity, but it did not detract from the stay. We had a heatwave while we were there and the bedroom did get very hot - no air conditioning but that is to be expected I guess in a Victorian building. A fan was supplied which did help!

Good breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable room with large bed and plenty of storage, named carparking space. Lovely Victorian hotel close to the sea front, and the town centre was only a 10-15 minute walk. Hotel was also very quiet.

It is run down a little and could do with fixing some maintenance issues, looks as if owners are fed up of spending money on the place and are happy to take money of customers without ploughing more money in to continue its sustainability.

Good Service, Food, Location, Old Building but very nice and homely atmosphere.

Booked this hotel as it had bar, restaurant and outdoor pool, only to be told not long before we went that they were all closed. Car parking was rip off at £10 per night, should be in the price or at least cheaper price, premier inn was £3.50 per night. Very tight bays too which caused a few issues with space

Location was ideal, close to beach and only few minutes walk to the harbour. Room was good size with large bathroom. Breakfast wasn’t too bad, standard full English

No lift (even though we were on 'ground' floor), and too many stairs to drag heavy suitcase up and down, not a problem if you traveled light. TV (though flatpanel LCD) needs a refresh, it must be from the previous decade!

Room was decent sized, large bathroom, good amenities. Even had a safe, but I think one too many wardrobe/drawers, but not a drawback. Having my name on the designated parking spot is a very nice touch I don't believe I've ever seen before. Liked the 'tailor made' breakfast that must be ordered

Nothing really to dislike ,if I had to be picky ,I would suggest a long length mirror in room ,I was in room 210, only shoulder head mirror in room ,but otherwise all good

Overall nice stay ,clean ,& tidy I had the 2 bed room on the 2nd floor ,there's are no lifts but didn't bother us ,no bar open this time , only upset was a fire drill at 2.30 am which turned out to be false alarm, was told one of the staff was smoking inside a room not good if that was the case ,but I would return ,nice stroll to beach & marina can't comment on Bfast didn't eat there ,but pleasant hotel
