The hotel could do with a complete update. The carpets and furnishings were worn and a coat of paint everywhere would make a huge difference. There was a general feeling that the hotel was understaffed .!

Staff super friendly, especially the lady who checked us in. The room was small but clean.

Our food was not value for money, and although we knew there was decorating going on. We didn't expect two large sets of double doors to be wide open at seven in the evening. The food was cold and we were cold. My mixed grill was OK but the chicken and sausage were dry as though they had been standing a long time under lights. My wife's sirloin was undercooked, she asked for medium and it was tough. My rump steak was lovely, just all got cold so quickly, and management didn't seem that interested The room was OK but tired, which I expected with a three star and the rooms were generally clean. EXCEPT! Around the door handles where there was clearly no routine cleaning carried out. PHOTO SUPPLIED. Considering its £90 per night with breakfast not included. We think it was poor value for money.

Looked lovely from the outside, and in a lovely area.

A bit tired and could do with a lick of paint and a spruce up, but did not detract from our stay.

Really friendly and caring staff. Excellent value for money. Breakfast was first class. Very convenient for all the sights of St Davids. Would definitely stay again.

The images available on Booking.com make the property appear much more recently done up, while in reality the place is in need of a face lift. The pub closes at 9pm, after which checking in is complicated. We were not offered two rooms close to each other, as requested- one was on the first floor (no lift) and the other was on the ground floor.

Good location, ample parking, comfortable beds, breakfast seemed affordable but unable to comment as we did not have it.

The heroic assistant manager was a star. Shame on Marstons for leaving her in that position.

Marstons providing support to an overworked member of staff who was exceptional. Very poor support provided.

We felt so sorry for the assistant manager who apologised profusely that she had no chef, no manager and no front of staff available for a number days; she was trying to prepare meals and run the bar as well as welcoming overnight guests. Fortunately she had a couple of friends who helped with clearing tables and explaining the situation to guests. Despite the position Marstons had left her in, she was very cheerful and thoughtful and provided the best service she could and more than we could have expected under the circumstances. She was a star. Marstons, we're not sure you deserve to have her! Where was your support, leadership and management to allow this situation to continue for a number of days?!

Stains on painted wall No headboard The room was stuffy clearly suffering from poor ventilation. A lot of condensation. Windows were very wet and steamy despite having heating on I had to leave window open all night not ideal giving it was cold outside.

The manager deserves a special mention he was very attentive, hard working, and simply ran off his feet running the bar , restaurant, kitchen, and room guests alone. Would expect more staff on I've never seen a marsdons hotel/ pub so short staffed. Good pressure shower Nice selection of toiliteries

Breakfast - food wasn’t…great. I know it was a cheap stay - but I’ve paid cheaper in a high street name establishment and had better food. After checking out - realised I left a hanging suit bag in the wardrobe with clothes inside - I could not get an answer at the hotel for 2 days. Luckily I am only half an hour away so drove back in the hopes it was safe.

Price matched facilities. Got what you paid for. Clean room. Pleasant staff. Good location.
