The curtains weren’t heavy so let a lot of light in early in the morning. But that would not stop me from staying again. Everything was great.

Our owner was great - efficient and helpful with local food recommendations. Complimentary breakfast basket included hot pastries fresh from the oven which were delicious! The room was basic but spacious and had everything needed and was very clean. Guests also have access to a shared lounge with couches, a tv and complimentary cake there.

We loved our overnight stay at Guestling House. Shannon was so welcoming, the rooms were excellent, as were all the shared facilities, and the basket breakfast exceeded all expectations.

Bedside tables and lamps would be handy. Breakfast pastries not to our taste. More shelves and hooks needed in shower room. A tv would have been good.

The location and views were good. Very friendly chickens!

I found the bed a little too firm and wooden floorboards creaked. However, this a lovely old property and to be expected. Just worried it would disturb our fellow guests.

Shannon was friendly and welcoming. She met us with a lovely smile. Our room was large and the views were fabulous. Although there is no television in the room , there is a lovely lounge downstairs with television and sofas. Shannon served a breakfast basket to the rooms at 7am which contained pastries and warm croissants with fresh apple juice and coffee. Delightful.

The chicken at 5 am, but we were in the country, so it was expected, but we had a laugh about him. Especially when he got into the car when we were leaving.

The lady who ran the hotel was amazing. She was attentive, knowledgeable about the area, and a great help. Especially before we arrived, there was a water shortage in the area, and she handled the situation perfectly. There was the welcoming party, a group of chickens, they came up to us when we arrived. They followed us up to the front door, great start. Then the ducks in the grounds, so good. Good luck to the hotel with the vineyard and the apple orchard for their cider produce.

The only possible point that could be a bottle neck are the specific check in times from 16:00-19:00, which requires some planning. Other than that it's wonderful.

The room was absolutely stunning, on a wonderful location. The host (Shannon) was also super friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home immediately. I would love to stay here again, very good value for money as well! You do need a car or motorcycle to get around to restaurants ideally though!

    Nothing Exceeded our expectations

We stayed for one night and brought our three dogs. When I walked into the guesthouse the shared living room is beautiful and really cosy. We got the number 100 bus into Hastings old town which runs every hour. The last bus back was at 22.09 which was perfect for us to be able to go out wander, eat dinner and have a few glasses of wine. Our room booked said it was a shared bathroom but it wasn't our bathroom was across the hall but was for use by our room only so not shared which was a nice surprise. The room itself was large and the view of countryside was beautiful. The bed was large and really comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was a nice extra and got delivered to our room in a basket. We wish we had stayed longer and will definitely be returning 😊

Host was so friendly, and the atmosphere made us feel relaxed. Quirky little rooms, and the view from our patio doors was beautiful, seeing the ducks and chickens roaming around was lovely to wake up to. The complimentary breakfast was a perfect extra touch to the whole experience, and we had the best sleep.

My wife didn't like the fact that there was no TV in the room, even though we were shown a nice ly-decorated living room where we could watch TV.

On her arrival we were met by Shannon, the manager, who was very pleasant and offered further assistance should we need it. Our room was big, comfortable, and warm. We had our own private bathroom and toiletries were provided. At 8am the next day a basket of freshly-made pastries, fruit, a bottle of orange juice, milk and coffee were left outside the room. There was free parking on the premises.
