How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Couldn't really say anything that we didn't like..
We really enjoyed the overall stay at The Carlisle Station Hotel it was basically straight across the road from the railway station door..we didn't have to walk too far.. The hotel was clean, tip top condition staff we came in contact were all lovely..

The bathroom is quite outdated.
Very convenient location, right next to the train station. The room was great and clean. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great! A very decent price as well.

The windows could not be opened completely, so in summer it's probably quite hot
Ideal as we had to travel early and it's right next to the station. Very nice, comfortable, clean. Easy check in and check out. We could check in quite early.

As I was meeting friends, it did'nt matter - but be warned no restaurant, other than breakfast. However plenty of places to eat or grab a coffee nearby - ask friendly reception...
Close to the lift as requested (thank you!)...very spacious, bright room, huge bed. Looking out the front of hotel, cool view. Big, spacious bathroom, which was great!!! (my last stay here, the bathroom was tiny, squeeze into it, sit on toilet and you could reach into shower, whilst the basin was pretty much on top of you!) Breakfast was fine, maybe add a bit more choice to it? Location, second to none, literally step across to train station...whilst a plentiful supply of buses too.

Really noisy plumbing!!! When the neighbouring room flushed the loo, the noise from the pipework was deafening. Very unnervingly and meant repeated disturbance through the evening into the night. Breakfast (cooked items) were cold!
The usual rooms you'd expect from a group like Best Western. Nice, polite service in general from the staff

Room was not suitable for my needs so we were kindly moved to another room with a very ting shower room not big enough and the bed against the wall again not suitable ,We were with friends and found out we paid more for our room than they had so very disapointed .

View of the bins. It didn't matter for just a few hours I stayed but would be an issue on a longer stay.
Location perfect next to railway station. Very good breakfast. Room small but clean and comfortable if a bit dated and just what I needed for a quick stopover. Waitress at breakfast excellent.

This was a lovely hotel based in the center of Carlisle, a few steps from the train station and close to all amenities pubs bars restaurants, and old fire station for bands ect. Would highly recommend

Rooms had been decorated but but not refurbished. Policy seemed to be pay more and get an upgrade. Parking expensive.

Can't actually pin point anything. It was a good experience all round.
Service was brilliant,everything was clean and a good nights sleep was had ahead of work the following day! This is now my go to hotel in Carlisle!

Four rooms booked. Rooms in need of updating, carpet worn in parts, noisy overnight some kind of fan outside a couple of our rooms and rooms on the others of the hotel had the train station announcement noisy and all room could hear music into the really hours
