Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe cottage was in a wonderfully quiet, pretty location and very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, the WiFi was good, and the heating was very efficient. It must be lovely to sit outside, but it wasn't quite warm enough. The host was very helpful and friendly.

GermanyThe canape was too low for us.
The owner had prepared bread and serials for us to have breakfast after a late arrival. There were apples too and he guided us to the nearby supermarket. All was perfectly explained and we have no complaints at all. Thanks to our host!

JordanThere are no shops nearby , it s not a bog problem just that you need to remember to shop for food when you are out.
Hallmount is a cute little cottage with all the necessary facilities. The rooms are cosy and the kitchen has all you need for a short stay. Its in a quiet neighbourhood not far from the city centre; takes only 15 min by taxi to get there. A great place to stay if you plan on visiting Belfast. My son said it reminded him off the cottage where seven little elves might have stayed!!

United KingdomEverything you needed was right there. Close to Belfast, we had the car so can't say about public transport. Communication with the host was above and beyond, was like a home away from home. Have already recommended to others to stay here, will 100% be back

The cottage is very cosy, clean and well presented. It is kitted out with everything needed for an easy and comfortable self-catering stay. It is also in a delightful and quiet country location. We did not have a car but this presented no major problem - as there is a bus route (no. 6) to/from Belfast City Centre. The bus stop is a shortish walk away with buses being regular throughout the day. The owner, David, cares about his guests and went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The grocery provisions made available to us on arrival was also a lovely touch. We have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation.

United Kingdom- weak shower - no street lights down the road (I know this isn't the hosts fault, it's just to note) - not so much a bad thing, but wouldn't be an ideal place for those wanting to spend most of time in central belfast
- lovely host, even left us a little welcome hamper - a great base for those who want to explore northern Ireland and Belfast - very clean - lots of countryside walks nearby - comfortable bed and living room - lots of heaters so very cosy - great kitchen amenities - good wifi - plenty of towels

United KingdomThis cottage is a little pink Irish gem to such extent that next time going in Belfast we will make it our temporary home again :). For some reasons I was personally very drawn to it. Comfortable, well equipped, clean and welcoming. David, the host, had been there to receive us at 10pm, very kind and approachable, flawless communication. Breakfast items were ready for us like cereals, fruits, milk, bread, butter. We used taxis to get into town except the morning we checked out, when we had an amazing walk until we reached Lagan river, then along the river with a very friendly couple who accompanied us. All in all, a memorable experience and one of the top accommodations I had purchased on Bookings.

United KingdomBeautiful location for walks around Giant's Ring, Shaw's Bridge, Lagan Tow Path, Terrace Hill Gardens, Belvoir Forest and Malone House, all walking distance. Excellent lunch nearby at Bob Stewart's, delicious wood fired pizzas in the beer garden. So convenient for city centre, just a 15 min drive away. Parking right outside the house was great and David gave us excellent advice for safe entry into and exiting the little lane where the cottage is. The whole house was immaculate and far more spacious than the photos suggest with a well catered kitchen with cooking utensils and crockery and a lovely welcome basket. David was also very accommodating with arrival and departure times. Will definitely book again.
