Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom was could hear the road a bit despite being on the top floor. EV charging didn't work first time and parking for them is a bit odd.
Canal side location great for stretching the legs and a nice walk into Skipton centre. Convenient location for work. Staff friendly, breakfast good, nice view from the restaurant too. EV charging worked and was a great help for my journey.

United KingdomThe velux window in our room wasn’t closing properly so the room was noisy from the road. When I asked to be moved to a quieter room over looking the canal I was told there would be an extra charge of £15. Having booked 3 rooms for my family I thought this was a ridiculous unnecessary charge. I refused to pay this extra fee, and it took some persuading of one of the reception staff to not charge me who was initially reluctant to do this. I would have thought that because our initial room wasn’t suitable the receptionist would have been more sympathetic to my problem but this wasn’t the case. I also think that a charge of £4.50 for a pot of tea for one is ridiculous. As a result we went out and had tea and coffees in a local Cafe.
The location of the Hotel was good for the purpose of our visit, and the breakfast was good. The breakfast staff, and the duty Manager were very helpful.

United KingdomVinyl sheet floor coverings in rooms are hard and give a basic feel to the accommodation. Fittings in the bathroom feel dated and worn with basin taps and toilet flush not really working properly although just about acceptable. Food menu for dinner is a bit limited and portion sizes perhaps a little on the small side.
Location, staff and basic facilities good. Easy parking and access to Skipton.

United KingdomThe beds were too hard and the studio rooms could do with an upgrade. Drinks were expensive and one barmaid seemed miserable in her job which reflected in her attitude. Could be a brilliant hotel with an overall upgrade but for the cost we expected more.
The majority of staff were excellent . Breakfast was very good.

United KingdomThe hotel was very dated and needed a few quid to update and renovate it. The room was okay but was in need of modernisation. All furniture and equipment were very dated, even the kettle and cups had an 90s feel to them. The room felt more like a 30 quid motel instead of a 180 pound a night up market treat.
Restaurant overlooking canal was beautiful, buffet breakfast was excellent. The view of the canal and surrounding fields is very pretty and tranquil. We booked a canal facing room, so the view was stunning. Access to the leisure swimming pool next door to hotel was good. The pool was like the hotel, a little dated and need of modernisation, but was still very nice and added to our stay. Staff where nice, friendly, welcoming and overall faultless. Checking In and out was easy and they phoned a taxi for us to go into town with no problems what so ever.

United KingdomThe only thing we didn't like was the heat in the rooms, even with the windows open and radiators turned off, it was to hot and we weren't near the kitchen area.
The location was great with relaxing views. A 5 minute bus ride straight into Skipton for the day £1.70. Lovely, Clean hotel on the canal side with a pub 100 yards walk away as well serving food if you wanted.

United KingdomThe one and only issue, and one that she had at Christmas also, is that she finds the shower tap impossible to use, so once again she had to go without a shower. It looks very nice, but it is a shiny torpedo shape and she finds it impossible to grip. A suggestion would be to change the taps in a few rooms for elderly visitors or maybe have some sort of adaptor available. Just a thought . Everything else was absolutely fine and she will be back at Christmas no doubt.
I booked this for my elderly mother in law as she was visiting us in Skipton. She stays at the Rendezvous a couple of times a year, usually at Christmas. As usual , the reception staff were welcoming and the room was spotless. The bar staff were helpful and cheery. She usually gets a room overlooking the canal and the fields at the rear of the hotel , but this time she was looking out over the road. No problem with noise though. Can't comment on breakfast, as it was a room only booking , but they are usually very good. A nice overnight stay.
