Cleanliness of room. Hairs in bathroom both on floor and in shower Headboard needs thorough clean stains on bed cover and cushions

Breakfast could have been better. Not as good as the blurb on the menu. Poor choice of yogurts, fruit platter empty, no prunes or compote available although on the menu, bacon very disappointing. Fruit platter was replenished but we were told that was ‘the compote’.

We changed our room from lower ground floor to ground floor with no problem. Dinner in the Rib Room was very good. Breakfast was disappointing.

Paid for 2 deluxe rooms with extra large beds - only got 1 deluxe bed, the other was standard. 2 lights were out in the bathroom & my bedside lamp didn’t work. Other than that had a very nice stay.

This was our 21st time staying at the Hardwick and always been happy with the cleanliness however on this occasion i noticed the carpets had been severely marked or stained.There was also what appeared to be a blood mark on the matress sheet.As far as the hotel services go i was disappointed to note that the newspaper service has been withdrawn which was understandable during the pandemic but there is no excuse now especially as we are so close to the Racecourse and racegoers such as ourselves would like a morning racing post.

Room was beautiful but had a very strong smell which I recognised as damp spores coming from the roof . We didn’t complain as only there for one night. Breakfast wasn’t great. There was nothing fresh in the hot food area and it had been sat there a long time ( fried eggs has turned green underneath and beans were lukewarm) . Lady with grey hair and glasses was lovely and got us some fresh eggs and made sure we were okay but understandably we had to wait.

The rooms where not up to standard, they had to move us from the first room as it was not clean and very worn and old. the reception staff did not make a good impression. I have never stayed in a hotel where the staff wont phone you a local taxi and just give you a bunch of numbers.

I bar staff where good, the location and the grounds are beautiful.

Initial room was floor -1 with path outside the glass door. No view. No security or privacy unless door closed and curtains drawn.

Room we didn't like was changed quickly to floor +1 with views of the the grounds. The 6' bed very comfortable.

From the website I was lead to believe that all rooms had a bath, this isn't the case, our room had a walk in shower. Unfortunately the shower had very little power more of a dribble, when you could direct it onto your body! So my plan for a relaxing bath before dinner was thwarted. Also I believe for a hotel with so many reception rooms there could be a solution for providing a quiet relaxing bar for hotel guests, when loud & drunk wedding guests are between wedding and evening reception. I wasn't feeling very relaxed by the time I got to dinner.

The location was perfect, we were going to the races. We love our walking and enjoyed walking through the park. We also had a fabulous meal in the Steak restaurant. All staff were very friendly in the hotel and check in was swift and efficient.

Our room didn’t have a fridge nor USB ports. Also I found the lighting was a bit gloomy especially as the light on the head board wasn’t working.

We were at a Wedding just a short distance to drive, but a bit to far to walk from the hotel. and the Taxis were a Nightmare. Book your Taxis well in advance people, because this hotel is a must stay.

The Room, Staff, Breakfast, Bar and Hotel were all Perfect. Fantastic service by all. 100% recommend. The bar even stayed open for our small Party even though we were the only Guests drinking there late.

We had a meal in the Rib Restaurant. Didn't like being in a corridor in what was like a cellar. Would prefer to eat in one of the restaurants they have for breakfast.

The room I stayed in was a little tired. The shower leaked onto the floor, not all the lights worked in the bathroom. The room was generally very warm, even with the window open fully & the fan on..

Reception, Restaurant, Bar, Location & grounds of the Hardwick Hall Hotel are second to none, Outstanding. The food in the Restaurant was also exceptional.
