Room was far too warm with little control

Very shabby in places. Stairwells very dark, bannisters paint very chipped and needs updating. Room/apartment was at the very top and was pretty shabby & tired looking. Painted surfaces all chipped. Worst thing was basically no proper bathroom door - made from frosted glass, not full size and no way to keep it shut! Now we know why it was so cheap!

Very friendly & attentive staff. Lovely, plentiful, breakfast. Comfy clean bed. Proper large bath towels. Lots of tea/coffee available in the room. Great pub with outside space on a lovely warm day!

The room was at the front of the hotel so was a bit noisy with traffic. It didn't spoil our stay but if you want an early night maybe ask for a room at the back. The bathroom door didn't close, which didn't bother us as we've been married for years, but not great for privacy. Also strong bleach smell from the bathroom and very creaky floors.

The location was great. Close to bars and restaurants. The room (2) was gorgeous with a comfy bed and a huge bathroom with a roll top bath and separate shower. Staff were friendly and breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Would stay here again.

Nothing much to improve on, its all good.

Our room (2) was very comfortable, the bathroom (with roll top bath and separate shower) was enormous. The breakfast is first class with lots of options. Staff very friendly.

Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable bed and well stocked tea/coffee. Fabulous choice of breakfast. We had the fruit and yoghurt granola which was plentiful but too sweet. Will choose something else next time.

Mattress was soft, not ideal for a bad back.!!! OK for a couple of nights.

Location was ideal, central to bars, shops, restaurants and station. Staff were friendly and efficient, breakfast was very good. The room was spotless, ideal for a couple. Free parking was a bonus!!!

not a lot to not like, the only slight negative I would say would be a foam duvet as opposed to a feather duvet. That is a pretty small item, though.

Most members of staff we encountered were really friendly, but one seemed to have a bit of an attitude when we asked simple questions about the facilities in the rooms, just seemed like we were an inconvenience for being there. Whilst the room with kitchenette was lovely, the toilet wasn't cleaned properly and there was very minimal kitchen equipment (very small amount of cutlery and a couple of pans, but no plates/bowls and no supplies for washing up etc). This didn't impact our stay as we were eating out, but if we had booked with the intention of making any food we'd have been a bit frustrated.

Excellent location and a really nice pub. The rooms were quirky and beautifully decorated. Our party had a double room and a little suite with kitchenette and balcony - a really lovely treat to sit out and enjoy a sunny afternoon. Breakfast was a great selection and really tasty. All in all this hotel was good value for what we paid and I would consider staying again if in the area!
