The person slamming a door every morning about 06:50hrs.

The staff were exceptional from housekeeping to management & everyone in between. The food was superb - prepared, cooked & served to a very high standard. My room was on the ground floor & had everything that I needed. Everything worked & linen/beverage items were replaced daily. The hotel had outside seating areas & had the weather been a little warmer I would have utilised. Thank you!

Our room was a tired looking and needed a refresh.

Food was very tasty. Staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating. Beautiful building, gardens and decent parking. Comfy bed.

Didn't matter to me but I didn't manage to get the TV on - batteries run out maybe?

Staff were very helpful and proactive - all with a friendly smile and a bit chatty - great! The best ham sandwiches ever!

Some of the facilities could be more modern, still everything worked well.

The staff were friendly and very accommodating, we were travelling with a toddler and they were very understanding. The room was quite warm and they gave us a remote controlled air conditioning unit to help us cool the room down. Breakfast was in the price for us and it was 10/10. We will be returning.

The furniture in the room and bathroom were a bit “tired”.

Lovely old house and gardens, spacious room, option to dine in the pub (with live music on a Thu) or in the quiet restaurant. Lovely meal with fresh fish. Excellent breakfast choices with gluten and dairy free options see photos. Staff was amazing in the evening and at breakfast, very attentive. Nice furnishing in common areas.plenty of free parking.

Excellent breakfast and staff very helpful abd friendly. I rang the hotel this evening at 22:30 as I left my iPhone charger in room 208 near the tea making facility and the bed. Hopefully the gentleman I spoke to will find it as he has gone to look for me.

The single thing that really stood out for us was the team. From check in to check out, the service we received was exceptional - a special shout out to the guy on the bar and the lady who served us breakfast. You really get the impression that everyone loves working at the hotel and that's a rare thing. Our room - number three - was a little rough around the edges and in need of updating but represented very good value for money. The bed was very comfortable and I loved the arched window overlooking the garden. Drinks on the terrace in the summer sun ahead of travelling to Prashad for dinner was a truly lovely experience. There was music on in the bar the night we stayed (Sean Harrington, amazing) and we loved listening to that with an after dinner glass of wine. It stopped at around 9.30pm so everything was quiet by 10pm. The buffet-style breakfast was lovely with three cooked options, just enough. We really loved staying here and will do so again. The common areas are very pleasant indeed and I'm sure that it won't be too long before all the bedrooms match up to that standard.

Being a bit picky but... I thought that the background music playing during inner was not really fitting, I would have preferred something a bit more mellow at a lower volume.

Room needs updating. Carpet stained, furniture old and aged (but not in a good way). Bed was lumpy. Linen clean and crisp though. Desk lamp didn't work, bathroom modern and clean but shower temperature was too hot and wouldn't cool no matter where the adjustment was turned. Room was very hot (not their fault just the weather) and the night porter kindly brought a fan which was old and pretty useless only blowing a hint of a breeze but better than nothing!

Lovely building and the staff were wonderfully accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was OUTSTANDING, full English had quality ingredients cooked perfectly, croissants were warm and flakey and the cereal/fruit selection excellent. Couldn't fault the breakfast.
