A beautiful large property set within gorgeous countryside surroundings. The owners decorated the property with banners and 60th balloons and left a welcome hamper full of beautiful things. This makes the arrival for my mother in law (her 60th birthday) even more special. Every amenity had been thought of and available. Even down to games, books, jigsaws, dvds, and a dolls house to entertain the children. A swing and trampoline outside in the huge backgarden for the children too - they absolutely loved this! All kitchen utensils you could ask for, lots of plates, bowls, cutlery for the full family. We just loved our time at the Hen Pen and would encourage anyone looking to book here to do it...its just fantastic!

The Hen Pen was exactly what we were looking for. Very spacious, clean and well maintained with all necessities provided. A welcome hamper was provided on arrival and Helen was very welcoming on our arrival. Nothing was too much of a bother.

It’s a peaceful and quiet location, a bit remote so you ideally need a car to go around.

Very high-quality construction and furnishings, large, spacious, well-equipped kitchen, lots of space and places for a group to gather, play games etc, nice open views to countryside outside near a large running farm. Great welcome treats and very accommodating and friendly hosts. We were a 3-generation family of 6 and fitted very easily - the house can easily accommodate larger parties. Farm tours can be arranged upon request and are great

Fantastic house which suited the whole family! Very comfortable and offered lots of space for family of 10. Very well stocked kitchen which was useful as we had large family meal planned for the Saturday night meal and brunch Sunday morning! Three large bathrooms which was useful. Beds were comfortable. Surrounding area offered lovely walks and there was a large secure garden which was handy for my son's dog. Great communication with the owner Helen who was always available for advice. We really appreciated the welcome pack left for us!

A fantastic two nights! The Hen Pen is more spacious than we originally thought and the owners left us a hamper pack to enjoy as well as recommendations of places to visit and eat. The kids loved having a farm right beside them and enjoyed watching the cows. Very peaceful.

The freezer draw was dirty with hair...we had to clean this on arrival as couldn't store food in it until it was cleaned. Just a very slight hiccup...not major :)

I enjoyed the fact there was plenty of space for everyone and I loved the layout of the living area as this meant I could keep eye on the children too.

Great communication with our hosts and a very warm welcome. Lots of space and very clean. Well equipped kitchen. Sizeable bedrooms with lots of wardrobe space. Two seating areas. Spacious garden for children with trampoline and swing. Really beautiful views. Lots of car parking space.

It was exceptionally well equipped for our large family: elderly, young, children & dog. The house had a wide range of kitchen equipment and a helpful supply of board games. The kids loved the trampoline and the swing. The location was excellent-close to lovely beaches and play facilities.

Great, big house, ideal for big families or group of friends. Very clean, kitchen big and well equipped. Plenty room for kids to play. The owners were very helpful. We were party of ten, and we had an amazing time.

The hen pen is a lovely home away from home. Very comfy beds and the shower pressure is great. The kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials to cook a meal. The welcome basket of teats was a lovely surprise. Helen and Peter have thought of everything, they were very welcoming and friendly.

cows were on the field to get to the river. wanted to get down but no biggie, it is what it is, its a farm after all and its understandable that cows need to do what cows do ;)

The property is on the back side of the farm estate, secure enough to leave doors open for us.

We loved everything about The Hen Pen. It was spacious, clean, well equipped in an amazing location. The views were amazing and the garden was great for the whole family and also the dogs. The garden was very secure. The children loved the trampoline! The open plan kitchen and living area was great and the additional living room was lovely to relax in when the children were in bed. Bedrooms were lovely with lots of storage. The kitchen was great for family cooking and dining, with everything you could need. The welcome goodies were a lovely surprise. The utility room was perfect for outdoor boots and feeding the dogs. Ample parking spaces, we took 4 cars. We were a family group with 3 generations and the property was just perfect for our stay. There was also so many toys, games and books to keep the children entertained. We would love to return as this is the best holiday home we have stayed in. Thank you Ps the listing photos don't do this property justice, It is beautiful!

We had a lovely stay at this property for our annual group getaway. It was one of the best equipped houses we have ever stayed at, and so spacious! Nice location for exploring the nearby area too. We wouldn’t hesitate to come again!
