If you are a light sleeper you may be better off booking a second floor room. We were woken at 5:45 on our second night by the children upstairs jumping about. It’s to be expected in a family hotel as I’m sure they were just excited, but if that would bother you, book an upstairs room.

The hotel is lovely. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious and breakfast was lovely with plenty of options to choose from. We would definitely stay again!

Great family friendly hotel, the family room was great with a double bed and bunk beds. The “watering holes” are handy for snacks and ice. Fridge in the room is always a bonus and lovely lighting in the room, with great viewing windows too. Would happily return!

The hotel staff were very welcoming and very helpful. Nothing was too much for them. They made our stay extra comfortable. Even providing an extended checkout, when my young son had a rough night through illness, leading us to wake up late. I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough. The cleanliness and comfort of the facilities were excellent. The staff were an absolute credit to making that happen. Thank you to all at Hex.

Somewhere different rather than a bog standard hotel to stay in with work. Quirky and different. Modern bedroom decor. Staff were great - welcoming, friendly and attentive at both reception and Bistro. Very impressed with them.

The food at dinner was excellent - breakfast was all cold and totally unappetising - the bacon was so undercooked that eggs too and the mushrooms didn’t look as though they had been cooked at all

There was no information in the room on its facilities. The heating control was difficult to operate. The bathroom sink plug did not seal, so we couldn't wash easily. We were glad we'd brought slippers as the tiled floor made nocturnal visits to the bathroom cold on the feet!

Great hotel at the entrance of the wildlife park, comfortable rooms, well stocked tea tray and nice addition of a fridge in the room. Good bistro serving food from breakfast to dinner.

Nothing to dislike. Only tweaks could be: to add a mirror to main room (only mirror was in bathroom), add a curtain to entrance to main room so that we could watch tv once kids asleep in bunk beds without the light disturbing them.

Four staff at breakfast chatting, complaining about their jobs, I am sure none of them thought we could hear but we we were the only ones in at 7am, felt like they were a bit redundant as we helped ourselves to everything and they had nothing to do. Also we arrived late night and left early so it was dark and it was sad we didn’t get to see any animals. I probably should have booked a non park side room if I’d worked that out and could have made a little saving there.

Great clean family room, fabulous balcony, amazing breakfast, lovely gardens and bonus dinos, the kids loved it all!

I do feel a little disappointed with the upsell for ‘park view’ which mislead me to believe a view of a few animals. Instead it was dinosaurs haha!

Great location, takes the pressure out of travelling back and forth in one day. Modern, clean and plenty of amenities on site!
