It would be great if there was a communal area that guests could access. A fridge in the room would be really helpful.

Lovely room, great location. Convenient check in process. Near to parking and local amenities. Good value for money.

All good - although check out the ensuite arrangements if that would be an issue for you. If you are a superlight sleeper, then you will know that any in-town location means you should always bring earplugs (altho noise wasnt a problem for us).

This is a superstylish townhouse apartment perfectly located on the one way main road through Ambleside. Even with the large sashwindows open (we had great weather), it was quiet (the cars tend to creep along that bit). At night (Saturday) there was a little socialising noise, eg some music from a nearby pub but it was not a problem. The payoff is a minutes walk to a wide selection of restaurants, shops, pubs, and the useful Tesco Express. The apartment itself was well furnished with stylish and new fittings (kettle, towels) ; spacious, comfy bed, good blackout curtains and blinds. Being elevated, it had lovely views over the rooftops and sitting in the massive armchair in front of the huge window with a book looking up the street to the fells was a treat. The keypad system worked well and the parking permit was so much easier than trying to squeeze into a tiny parking up a steep hill. like the other cottages around. Only one oddity and it didnt bother us at all was that the private bathroom was next door(on the landing) to the bedroom - you have a key for its exclusive use but if it would worry you to use the loo in the night in your PJ's, then maybe book one of the other rooms with an internal ensuite. We were fine with it - didnt see another guest all the time we were there - and the bathroom is beautiful, modern with a clawfoot bath and a powerful and very hot shower over. There is a tiny terrace outside for enjoying icecreams and people watching! We loved 1869 and would stay again very happily

Only thing in the room I could fault was no iron/ironing board

Room was lovely, guest house was small, neatly present and nicely furnished. Towels were large and super soft, bed was comfy. Window opened with a gorgeous view. Tea, coffee, biscuits, kettle in the room, hair dryer.

Although we had a private, very lovely bathroom,it wasn't en suite,so it was a bit strange having to go out into the corridor during the night! It was literally next door though

Everything! Location was perfect for all the wonderful pubs, bars & restaurants. Hotel was very tastefully decorated. Room was stunning, warm, spacious with a very comfy bed!

Bathroom was a tad cramped but not too much that it was a problem.

Very comfortable and well decorated. No breakfast but gave us an opportunity to explore more of the town and grab some food out and about. Well prepared porch for cleaning boots and drying off the dog before entering the property. Included a car parking pass for the local car park so we didn't have to pay.
