Nothing really Room was a bit hot and the window was difficult to manage, but it didn't detract from our stay

I didn’t realise when booking is was a dog friendly place and because we don’t have dogs there was sometimes a dog smell in the room even though was clean. apart from that it was good

bit noisy if you’re staying at the front of the property. room smaller than expected, was quite dark and no mirror in the room apart from bathroom so it was difficult to dry hair etc. food evening menu limiting for my choice. stains on bedroom ceiling.

Wonderful stay! Luxurious bedrooms and bathroom, beautiful location, Very friendly staff and lovely tranquil atmosphere. Our breakfast was also delicious and we left feeling rejuvenated after a great nights sleep! Would highly recommend to anyone who likes a little luxury and the countryside

- A few pieces of furniture were uncomfortable/sagging due to overuse & could do with being replaced

- The waterfall was amazing - The food was delicious - The service from all staff was brilliant - The location was great, even on the main road it was lovely & peaceful (even at night)

From check in to check out everything about this hotel was 10/10. We were here for my mother's 83rd birthday for 1nte. Rooms 2 and 8. Cut story short. Mam has mobility probs. She was looked after perfectly. Food lovely staff excellent. Will be back.

Fabulous stay. Really warm hotel, really warm welcome, prefectly cold beer and fabulous hot food. Every member of staff that we met around the hotel was delightful and obviously very keen to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Food was fabulous too. A really good evening menu included within the DB&B rate and an excellent breakfast with lots of options for the morning. Loved it - and would recommend in a heartbeat,

I was walking so didn’t mind, but you would definitely need a car to get around. also, I am not sure about charging for the High Force view - you can just get the same for free on the other side of the river.

Really comfortable place to sleep if you are exploring the local area. Less than 10 min walk to High Force too.

Room was not as large as expected but ok for a short stay.

Staff friendly and helpful even before check in time. Evening meal was very good along with good selection of wines. Cooked breakfast has to be seen to be believed, exceptional quality and enough to satisfy the largest appetite. Hotel residents receive complimentary admission to both the High Force waterfall and nearby Raby castle, a saving of over £25

Day two, breakfast again was hot and delicious. Staff were very good and attentive. Sorry the toast was quite soggy.

Breakfast on day one was hot, fresh and lots of it. Very good choice to suite all tastes and appetite. A lovely lady (with dark hair) was exceptional with information about the area as well as being super attentive.

Excellent provision of tea and coffee making facilities. Only drawback was that they were plugged in inside a wardrobe with a spring door so when trying to make a drink you had to keep your foot wedging it back otherwise it bashed you in the back or elbow - not good when wielding a boiling kettle. We managed though and it certainly didn't impact on the otherwise perfect stay.

Friendly staff absolutely made the stay the best. Evening meal - brilliant. Breakfast - brilliant. Cosy room with sparklingly clean ensuite.
