Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomVery loud extractor fan and a could use some TLC in areas (paint coming away on frames, skirting boards etc) but all cosmetic and shouldn't be a reason to not stay here.
Great location Free on street parking Accommodating host (gave us later check out time which we appreciated) Functioning kitchen with all the necessities Freebies such as soaps, conditioner, shampoo and body wash. I would recommend here to others as walking distance to Main Street and Park. It was a homely feel and had everything we needed. Would happily come back.

Lovely, cosy cottage. We arrived during a very cold, snowy time and the house was lovely and warm. Owners were very helpful. Had everything we needed for a short stay and was very close to the village centre. Highly recommend

United KingdomLovely building needs some TLC, living room was not cosy and cool even though heating was on. Would have benefited from a little electric log burner/fire in the stone fireplace this would have made it feel more homely and warm. It's an old building but could have done with a banister on the steep stairs for safety.
Stayed for 2 nights for my birthday and to visit family in Keighley. Good location with private parking. Good directions to cottage and parking space. You can walk into Haworth main street in 5 mins. Good communication with host. Welcome pack of tea, coffee and biscuits appreciated. Nice toiletries for our use, soft towels and plenty of hot water and a good shower. Bed was very comfy, nice bed linen and pillows, we slept really well. kitchen was well equiped, missed an ice cube tray to make ice for my wine though 😊. Comfy and modern lounge furnishings, nice cushions and throws to snuggle in as it was chilly. Would probably stay again.

United KingdomNo towel rail in bathroom and bathroom door did not shut. Small shower head could not be adjusted. Cellar door had no lock on it and steep steps. However, we were most comfortable and cottage had everything we needed.

United KingdomAfter having a shower the water leaked from the bathroom floor to the corner of the living room. You could see it was an ongoing problem as there was a patch painted in the corner of the ceiling. Because of this the house smelt slightly damp. The bathroom and skirting boards could do with a lick of paint to freshen it up
Comfy beds. Warm. Near to restaurants and main street.

United KingdomThe house was clean but the bathroom was disappointing and in need of a makeover- comfortable but needed freshening up. Smaller bedroom could do with a piece of furniture to store clothes rather than a small rail.

United KingdomI would have liked there to have been hand rails/ bannister on the stairs as they were quite steep. I didn’t like the memory foam mattress it gave me back and neck ache, but didn’t bother my husband.
It was just a short walk to the main area of town. Quiet area. Comfortable living room to sit and relax. Had lots of little extras; shampoo, conditioner, body wash, room sprays

IrelandThe kitchen is a little small but we’ll equipped.
The location is amazing, only 5 minutes away from the Main Street. I love how authentic the property has felt and it had a really cosy vibe. Also there is a bath at the property which is amazing when you want to relax after a long hike through the moors. The host is friendly and answers queries quickly. There is a nice Brontë poster in the living room which I really loved.

United KingdomPerhaps a welcome pack with local information and the wife says to mention that a full length mirror would have been nice.
Great location. Beds very comfortable. Excellent water pressure for shower. Cottage warm on arrival and cozy throughout stay. Nice touch of lamp lit up on windowsill to welcome us. Excellent Internet. Although there is the parking near the bins, we found it easier to park on Cold Street with no issues and ample space. Just be aware bins are emptied on a Friday. Overall excellent value for money. Would definitely return.

United KingdomCould do with a little TLC some of the wallpaper was peeling off the wall in the hallway and behind the radiators & it would have been great to have a little pint of milk in the fridge when we arrived but it wasn't a big deal 🙂. Just make sure you park directly beside the bin store or you will have neighbors telling you to move 2 inches forward
Fantastic location, great comfortable beds & it has everything you need while you are travelling.

United KingdomAlthough the host did put out hot chocolate and coffee mix (which was very appreciated) it might have been nice to have a few more essential bits in the kitchen (oil, salt, pepper) just to avoid having to buy too much while staying there. It should also be clear that the stairs are quite steep which might not be accessible to everyone. Also the memory foam bed wasn't the most comfortable but I suppose that is just down to preference (although tall people should note that your feet might dangle off the bed!)
Hill Cottage was in the perfect location, just 5 minutes from Main Street with lots of lovely restaurants (I would highly recommend the Fleece Inn) and shops around. Check-in was very easy and hassle free as it was just a key in a lockbox. The cottage was very cosy and we very much enjoyed our stay.
