Alan and Dorothy, the hosts, were extremely helpful.A roaring log fire was burning on our arrival,There was freshly baked shortbread as an extra surprise welcome. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well appointed. With two bedrooms, one double and one twin, both with en-suite showers and toilets. Set in the beautiful northumbrian countryside a short drive to Haltwhistle, and within easy reach of Carlisle and Brampton. We are booked for another weekend break here in six weeks and can hardly wait. Highly recommended

    Nothing really.

Two bed cottage for 2 nights for less than nearby B&Bs. That does mean no breakfast but we don't normally eat much so that suits us just fine. Plenty of space with two rooms and a small but fully equipped kitchen. Dorothy had left us a pint of milk and a shortbread (looked homemade, tasted great). As the farm has no near neighbours and is on a minor road the location is very quiet. Very helpful and friendly hosts, Dorothy had the fire set for us when we arrived and made it up again the next day after we managed to let it go out.

    Everything was fantastic!

Beautiful Farm Stay with easy access to Hadrians Wall at Housesteads and many other areas of interest near Haltwhistle. This gorgeous farm stay was spotless, well equiped and welcoming. The hosts were very unassuming, obliging and they spoilt us with extra treats. It was a real treat to see the farm animals and go walking down country lanes. One of the best places we have stayed in the UK.

Delightful cottage to stay in. So cosy and comfortable. We really enjoyed our couple of nights here. Located on a working farm in beautiful countryside. Not far from a section of Hadrian's Wall. The children loved seeing the farm animals and the hosts were very friendly.

Owner made shortbread as a welcome, really nice touch. They have the adjoining cottage but didn't see them apart from arrival. Lovely coal fire and fuel provided, both rooms en suite (toilet cannot be locked from inside though). Well equipped cottage and would go back.

The cottage was lovely and clean and in a fantastic location. We brought my mum and dad to visit the Roman Army Museum etc and had the best time. We got a taxi into Haltwhistle one evening and had dinner but the other nights we just spent enjoying the sun in the lovely garden.

    I liked everything.

We loved this place! We had the best time with our little babies. The house is very easy to find and the communication with Dorothy before arrival was fantastic. We told them at what time we were arriving and the fireplace was on for us. The book located in the living room explains everything you need to know about the house and the surroundings. The house has a lovely cottage garden. The kitchen is totally equipped with lots of attention to detail (oil, salt, foil, etc). The rooms were spacious and the beds super comfortable. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom. They got a cot and a highchair available for the little ones. The location is perfect and the views from the house are something from another world! It is a working farm with beautiful cows that our children adore. Alan was so friendly and treated us so well. I definitely want to come back and would recommend it to anyone.

The only negatives were that there were small spots of mould (especially in one of the kitchen cupboards) and clearly there are bits of damp damage, although there doesn't seem to be any active damp. I am susceptable to respiratory issues and could feel it affecting me slightly. However, this is not unexpected in an older property!

The host was friendly, and was there to greet us when we arrived. The house is a lovely little property on a working farm (so there are farm animals and a lot of mud, as expected!). The house is small but functional, with a small well equipped kitchen, with coffee and even a small milk kindly provided. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were also clean. No shower gel or soap (other than antibacterial hand soap) was provided, which is not a negative, just a heads up if you were to stay. The fire heats the water and the heating, and we did let the fire die a bit prematurely on one night so it did get cold. The host was happy to assist if necessary, however we got it going again no problem. The location is beautiful. It's drive or hike, there is nothing within a short walk distance (and no footpaths) although if you're looking to stay here, you're probably looking for this sort of thing!

Wasn't really anything to dislike. Would be great to have a shaver point in one of the bathrooms if ever refurbishing

Loved the homely nature of the property and the fact that it's very much ' in the middle of nowhere'. Friendly local pub but although walkable didn't fancy walking back in the dark. Great to have a log burner as don't have one at home and comprehensive instructions from owners made it easy to operate. Close to Haltwhistle and Hadrians wall which was the reason for our stay. Apart from a friendly welcome didn't see the owners at all, loved the complimentary delicious shortbread which was a nice touch. Would definitely return
