Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing!
Everything. The hut was really clean, very nicely presented and filled with lovely little touches like dvds to watch, snacks and even porridge and cereal for breakfast! There was a pint of milk provided along with a microwave, kettle and air fryer. Debbie was a fantastic host, great communication and a lovely welcome making sure we had everything we needed. Beautiful sunset and clear skies to see the stars at night.

United KingdomNothing to dislike
The Shepherd’s Hut was such a stunning property, small but perfectly formed! Such a clever use of space to make it incredibly cosy, comfortable and welcoming. Debbie as host has clearly put a lot of care and attention into making it feel so special and was a great host, both with pre-stay communication and in welcoming us at the accommodation. Could not recommend this place highly enough, it would be a pleasure to be able to stay there again.

United KingdomOnly reason for 9 stars and not 10 was due to the fact the door to Morven appears to have dropped which made opening and closing a little more difficult and felt like we were having to slam it, which later in the evening and earlier in the morning, being considerate campers, we felt a little uncomfortable about. Minor adjustment would be all that it requires.
The pod was clean and cozy. The milk in the fridge was a lovely touch. Although we sourced our own breakfast prior to arrival, we really appreciated the added bonus of the cereal and porridge sachets, provided. The private shower room was a great addition and was in clean order. We liked the fact that shower gel and shampoo were provided too. Overall we had a really lovely stay, thank you!

United KingdomThe road on approach is a bit bumpy, not really an issue as it is only a track, but just to be mindful if arriving in the dark as we did. It's very ( very ) dark, the sensor lighting is great on return back from the bathroom cubicle but not on the way. It doesn't pick you up until you've almost got to the door. However, there is a torch provided, so I advise anyone use it. Not really a complaint, just advise. It was a great place.
Our hostess, Debbie, was lovely and although the pod was ready for us to self check in, she came out in the cold to greet us. My husband had never stayed in a pod before, but he loved it, as did I. The shower/ bathroom were obviously separate being pod accommodation but we had our own unit and it was spotless. The pod had everything we could need. Debbie recommended a lovely pub in Keiss where we enjoyed a nice meal in good company, before chilling back at the pod. Great overnight stay on our road trip, but would stay longer if we ever returned. Ideal spot for touring John O' Grouts, Thurso, Dunnet's Head etc. Amazing for the Dark Skies/Northern Lights enthusiast. We got a few snaps.

United KingdomThe bed was a bit lopsided - I think previous guests had regularly sat on the edge of the bed, making the mattress more worn on one side than the other. Comfy enough otherwise, though.
The place felt like a home from home, which was what I needed when working away from home for the week. Debbie made it known she was available if I needed anything, but I didn't. Everything you'd reasonably expect to need had been provided. Despite it being a stormy week, the hut felt cosy and secure. Would stay again, for work or leisure!
