How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

staff came into our room without knocking , which was no problem as i was just with my friend about to leave however if this is done often this is a concern
very clean , most staff were lovely :) and close in a lovely part of the city

Room for 3 adults was just too small.We had to add another room on but despite having paid in full for a triple room we then had to pay again for a single room. Staff were not able to make take the third part of the triple room off the second room

The location was quite far from the centre not stayed in that part of Liverpool before.
Room was lovely and clean a little small but OK for 1 night. Breakfast was lovely lots of choices. Most of the staff were lovely and friendly except for one lady who was quite miserable and I thought rude.

The breakfast is a typical English breakfast. I would prefer a bit more healthy food. However, there was always lost of choices and the food was never running out. Figuring our the climate control in the room was also a bit of a puzzle.
Everything was well taken care off, making my stay easy and comfortable. The bed was very nice and the room was well equipped, including soap, shampoo, conditioner and hand cream (and also a hair dryer, iron and board were present). There was also a water boiler with a few tea options and (decaf) powder coffee. A tip would be to bring your own tea bags to have a bit more choice. The room attendants did a great job, as my room was very clean every time I returned in the afternoon. The location was good, in a street very close to the city centre and the lovely Hope Street and surroundings, although the street itself had limited facilities.

Absolutely nothing, it’s perfect!
Everything about this hotel is unbelievably excellent! It’s immaculate, when I say this I mean absolutely immaculate! The whole place is beautiful. Your restaurant is stunning, breakfast was unreal too! Your staff are so friendly and accommodating. If I could rate this higher than 10 I would! I’d recommend to anyone, I really would.

The pricing for their wine was wrong when I bought a glass with a discrepancy between their till price and what they had listed in their literature. However, the individual who dealt with this was very polite and worked through the issue to resolve it. While this was happening, another of the night staff advised a woman with her young son (under ten) to go on a fifteen minute walk to find a pizzeria when she enquired if she could get one delivered. This was at 11pm and I felt he could have been more accommodating and got her a number to ring for one. However, I appreciate she could have probably done this herself on her mobile.
Great location. Liverpool One is a 2 minute walk away. Room was clean and comfortable with good facilities. Breakfast was good as well, very much what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn - good variety/choice and plenty of it, just busy. Staff were very pleasant and the vast majority very helpful.

Email communicatin with hotel before arrival was slow, from day to day, so after all, our stay could not be prolonged, as we wanted, because in the end no room was free.
Quiet hotel near city centre. Room was comfortable and spacy enough. Good English breakfast.
