How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room wasn't cleaned when we got back and only one towel left in room. Car parking cost was rather high.
Nice room friendly staff, next to the DLR for access to attractions. A nice breakfast selection with plenty of seating.

Superb customer service from all the staff who must of been well trained but it felt genuine. Very new and lots of space and well placed for the excel and city airport

Hotel restaurant menu was not very appetising and very few local restaurants in the area, although the Chinese Yi-Ban was excellent.
Onsite parking, friendly staff and clean and comfortable room.

Breakfast room was quite crowded everyday. No possibility to open the window in any room, we were unable to set the AC/ventilation on comfortable level. The room was very cold or very hot.
Nice and clean hotel with basic english breakfast. Very close to the DLR station that takes you directly to the centre (Tower Bridge)

The cost of parking.
The room was well presented, we asked for twin beds and the hotel accommodated the late request. Facilities were adequate and parking was secure. The breakfast was very good, with a wide variety to choose from and the staff were very professional.

Getting to and from the hotel was tiring for a weekend in London but if I was flying from London City airport I would come back 100%

The hotel is in a perfect location, near the DLR station. They offer a traditional English breakfast every morning, which is consistently the same. The rooms and towels are clean. However, a room for a four-person family could be a bit larger.

The bed was really small for two people. Like it could be maybe 120cm wide, max 140 cm wide. I am a big guy and we had some tough time while sleeping. There was a fold up couch in the foom and when we unfolded it so maybe we could sleep separate due to small bed, the couch was very dirty inside. Like a lot of dust and other stuff. Also, the air conditioning seemed not to be working. You can't open the window and with this combination the air in the room became very dense in very short time.
The location is very nice, very quiet. The fact that there is an airport just oposite the channel doesn't bother you during night or day. It si very close to the DRL line and the trains run very often even on weekends. The breakfast was very good and enough even though I thought there will be a continental one as well, we were happy with the british only. The room was clean and rather modern with decent view from the windows. The staff was very nice and very helpful. There are good restaurants around to choose from for deliveries in case you come back late. The showe was perfect. It was spacious and very comfortable. I really liked it.

The breakfast is decent, not more than that. No fresh fruits or vegetables were available besides half-rosted fresh tomatoes. The location is not far from DLR train station and in few minutes walk from the Excel. However, if you plan the trip for leisure rather than business, the location is far from ideal. It takes at least 30 to 45 minutes to get to the center, and around 25 minutes to the closest shopping mall.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. My luggage was lost by the airline, and I got assistance from the teller, including exact instructions where I can buy some outfits etc. However, still, too bad there are no even basic stores in the area (either grocery or others)

Nothing not to like but would like more teabags in the room!
Good location, easy enough to get into & around London but in a much quieter area. Room very clean & comfortable. Staff very friendly & helpful. Breakfast lovely, lots of choice. Good value for a London Hotel.

The room was very hot and the air conditioning didn’t seem to work in our room and not being able to open the windows meant it was very stuffy.
