Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomWhen I decided to book it was £104 on the Booking.com site as there was a reduction mentioned. When I actually booked I was charged £148 and the reduction was not included and when I raised it, I was asked tp provide proof. I went back on to the site and the deal has vanished. I felt like a liar and I am really still quite angry about this.
Room was ok, Staff were good and the location was needed.

HungaryOur room was tiny for my family (4 pers) but we didn't spent a long time in it except the nights. It was obvious that our room hasn't been renovated in the last couple of years but in spite of this fact it was clean.
The location of the hotel was excelent as well as the breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful.

United KingdomBreakfast room not big enough as always very busy regardless of time. We went to breakfast at quieter times but it was still too busy to enjoy. Beds were ok but not that comfy and were doubles so quite cramped when sharing with my husband. No tube stations near so ended up getting taxis to and from places to save time. 25 min walk to King’s cross station with children (&my kids are really good at walking fast and frequently).
Very clean, good breakfast, not a bad location if you don’t mind walking far. Staff all very helpful and welcoming.

United KingdomWe stayed in a room with 2 double beds which was a little on the small side for 4. The food in the restaurant was good but it would have been nice to have a larger menu. This would have encouraged us to eat there more than once. There wasn’t much around the hotel and so I think the “King’s Cross” in the title is quite misleading. It’s a good walk to King’s Cross or any underground station for that matter.
The hotel was clean and much more luxurious than a budget hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food in the restaurant was also good.

United KingdomShower drained slowly risking flooding. Was disappointed that the breakfast included option appeared when initially booking but when I followed the booking through it disappeared forcing me to pay the same price for the same room just without £50 worth of Breakfast included.
Room was spacious and had a really nice view from the 3rd floor. Location was good close to Farringdon, Russel square, and Hollborn. Nice big shower made for a lovely touch. Nice to find a sofa in the main room.

United KingdomThe 2 double beds being in that size of room was rather tight. The desk and chair being where they were, there was almost no space to manoeuvre between the chair and the bed. That's the only small gripe though, everything else was excellent.
The room was comfortable, and the bathroom and shower were lovely. The staff were really lovely and accommodating, and the location was very good, only a 15 minute walk from Kings Cross.

BelgiumI think although everything was good, the price was crazy high for that. Maybe those are the prices for London but still. One remark: what you call "the gym" I would not call that at all. This is a claustrophobic room where 3 people already looks like a serious crowd. Not well equipped.
I liked the room, it was cosy and definitely clean. It was a very decent place to stay. Breakfast was also ok but I would like a bit more food variety. Location is also excellent and the pizza for dinner was not bad at all.

United KingdomLocation was ok, but a good 15-20 min walk to King's Cross or Russell Square. Pillows were a tad lumpy and one of the beds was particularly creaky and noisy. One minor complaint about breakfast was the fried eggs were swimming in oil.
Great staff, good value and the double double room was good for a family, rather than uncomfortable sofa beds. Breakfast was fine for a hotel. Plenty to choose from.
